I tested it. It looks fine. How do I open device manager screen and what do I need to look for? Thanks Hood

I have a Zenbot with 4 wire bipolar 285 ounce in nema 23 steppers. It worked great for a few months and then it started having problems it seems after I had disconnected the tower for a few days. The axes just bump and grind and bounce around, do not jog. I checked the mechanical, its all good. I replaced the ic drivers on the board, adjusted my configurations in the ports and pins many times, and got mixed results. Sometimes an axis would jog smooth, then another one would act up. I think the problem is between the pc and the driver now. Mabye my settings in the computer's device manager are not right. I'm using a Dell Optiplex tower with plenty of memory and gig.

General Mach Discussion / Thing ran fine, now jogging skips?
« on: June 01, 2009, 07:39:09 PM »
Hi everyone. My Zenbot was fine for two months. In the last 2 weeks the Z axis was fluttering terribly when I tried to jog with xbox 360 controller.I checking the belts and bolts and everything mechanical, nothing out of place. I switched the cables from the driver to the steppers and found the z axis stepper worked fine when plugged into the x axis cable.  I then checked  in the motor configs, the z was different than the other two axes so I changed it and it ran flawlessly. Thought it was fixed, then after a few days, the x axis started doing the same thing. This time, I don't see anything off in the motor configs, and after shutting everything down, restarting, I can't get it working.
I would just like to know, what would make the machine just go from working fine to this?

FAQs / How much G-code with the trial download?
« on: April 03, 2009, 03:49:03 PM »
I heard it was 150 or 500 or something. I got the trial last week, love it!! I made about 5 or six programs and they are not huge( mabye 20 to 40 lines each). I tried to put in an M30 command, because I was at the end of writing a program, and it wouldn't save that command. I wondered if The trial was running out. If I buy the whole version, do I have to wipe the trial download off first? Thank you for helping me. I really appreciate you fine folks. Take care!

General Mach Discussion / What does offline mean?

Sounds like a dumb question, I know. I ran through my program really smooth a few times, then hit the offline button and ran it again. The program is running but the the tool is doing nothing, and the toolpath display comes up now real nice. All I want to know is, will I be able to run Mach normally without being hooked up to the internet(offline). Because right now I have only played with Mach while being in a wi-fi zone. The shop where I plan to take the system I won't be hooked up to the internet. At least not in the near future.

I got it straightened out now. I was not starting the program in the correct place. Actually, I had too much going on in the beginning of my program and it couldn't read it correctly. Thanks a lot Hood for your help, and Rich too. I'll know how to properly attach code to the forum in the future.
