The machine must be easy to use.  I think Mach3 is easier to use.

From experience, almost CERTAINLY because you've used Mach3 for a while and Mach4 is new. The answer to this is ALWAYS, Mach4 is NOT Mach3. Hang in there and learn to live with a much more "typical" control interface.

You ARE editing the screen load script in the screen editor, correct? Not trying to edit some LUA file outside Mach4?

If so, just add a comment line somewhere, like:

I've downloaded the updates and I'll install them when I'm clear of the current business.

In the meantime, this is a little chunk of the code Sheetcam is writing (from one cut to the next)

At line 130, SheetCam simulates this as the Z move completing before the X move starts.
Is this what you would expect Mach4 to do from the way this is written?

Far from the expert, I'd say NO, X and Z will move simultaneously. Try it in air, then add line 125 G0 Z20.0000 and see what you get.

Hi propstuff,

That almost sounds more a post processor issue than a Mach4 issue. If you can fix the issue by adding a line of gcode. the posts should be able to do that!!

That said, support is going to want you on a WAY newer version (4612 at least) and if you truly have an ESS and not a USB Smoothstepper, USS, you'll be nudged to a new plugin, too. ESS Mach4 plugins don't even use that numbering convention now.

You might rename your Mach4Hobby folder, install Mach4 new, and copy you plugins, profiles, screensets, macros, whatever, into the new version so you can fall back by simply renaming directories, too.

I think NO. No profile copying or anything. Maybe screenshot your Mach3 pins and other stuff and put them in Mach4. Andy at Warp9 has LOTS of good info about setting up Mach4/ESS so start there. You're going to be eventually very happy, but don't get in the rut that Mach4 is Mach3 just updated, it's NOT.

Ah, man, I looked, there were 7, and I forgot to come back here and tell you. So I'll accept $300 for the 7 G320x drives.

We should probably take this off of here. Text nine two zero two five seven seven seven zero six (hopefully you have a cell phone!!) and we'll work it out. PayPal preferred, and I'll pay shipping long as you're not in Timbuktu!!

I don't have an answer to your troubleshooting question. Maybe try the breakout board manufacturer unless it's one of those totally generic simple break-out-the-pins boards. If it's a PMDX or CNC4PC you should be able to get some help.

I'm far from an expert, but I don't think you can edit screenscript.lua, you need to edit the function in the screen load script in the screen editor.
