Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Screenset gone missing

I guess, look in Mach4Hobby/Screens, and if that file is not there, that would explain that. Your profile is looking for that screen and it isn't there. I'm not sure modern versions of Mach4 install that screen, so if you've upgraded Mach4 but an old profile is looking for that screen, there you go.

One thing to remember, if you're going to edit a "stock" Mach4 screen, rename it before editing or it will be over written on a new install.

All I can say is REMOVE all non essential plugins from the plugins folder, don't disable them, move them someplace else, start Mach4, get the keyboard jogging setup like you want, restart and see if it sticks, then move your plugins back. If moving your plugins back hoses your setup, then I'm stumped, no more suggestions:)

There is a bit of a kerfuffle WRT ESS plugins and Mach dev versions. If you read the Warp9 forum you can learn of this. This is making upgrading dev versions and ESS plugins a bit confusing, and your use of Industrial just complicates it a bit more. If the machine runs and you're relatively happy, I'd sit on it.

That said, if you DO want to venture into it, rename your Mach4 directory to something meaningful, like Mach4Industrial_4481, install a new version from scratch, then copy your license, profile, screens, plugins, etc, over to the new version, copy the new ESS plugin in, and try it. If you get stuck, some simple directory renaming gets you back.

Mostly depends if you want to play or if a working machine is more important!! Personally I've put a halt on Mach4 dev/ESS fiddling.

It might be worth a try to also right click and set to Run as Administrator. Can't hurt anyway!!

......you need also set RPM i think

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Mach4 doesn't remember spindle speed between sessions, so before you can start the spindle you need to command a speed SOMEWHERE. S1000 in MDI, in gcode, in a script, somewhere.

One issue I see with "new" Mach4 screens, at least from my perspective. I have, over 4 years or so, added lots of little things to the wx4 screenset, most of which I've forgotten all about!! So......if the wx4 screen got updated, I'd never know as I use my modified version. Same would apply to a cool new screen, I'd have to go into THAT screen and make all my little edits/additions. I know, I'm supposed to document this stuff, but each little thing seems insignificant so I never do that, I just figure I'll "remember" them all, and that doesn't happen either!! I'm pretty good about commenting the script itself, but that doesn't make it easier to remember all I've changed.

Is there a way to "compare" two screens, like wx4 and MY wx4 to see all the things that are changed? I seem to remember Brett showing me how to do that years ago, but, alas, I've forgotten that, too. Probably in NotePad++ somehow but I don't remember.

I've had that same one, P2, for years. These work very well.

Look down thread for a topic about Manual Spindle Start Switch. On the second page I outline how I've used two of those. Might give you a start on whatever you're looking to do.

You SURELY meant a PoKeys feature that almost works!!! My coded Mach feature works like a champ and is programable for your desired percentage at the same time. Use that;)

Does the machine run otherwise? You can jog the single axis you have setup to test? Perhaps you need to edit the RefAllHome script to match your setup?? RefAllHome need the axes active and the default home script is likely calling for all 3, X/Y/Z, to move, but you don't have those active yet? Can you go to the diagnostics tab and REF just the axis you have setup? If so, the RefAllHome script won't run until you get more axes setup, it's probably trying to do Z first and you don't have a Z setup.

I'm just guessing here!!
