I will have 4 of the DC-06 speed controllers and can say that the quality and functionality is superb.
My hat off to to Peter - keep up the good work, there are a lot of us that appreciate the service you provide.
Be assured of my continuing cutom.....

More good news!  Peter Homann is also still out there, just buried in work!

Regards,
Ray L.

I emailed Peter and got a response, he is catching up with the orders - mine is winging its way as we speak!
I was beginning to worry...I have ordered 2 x DC-06 speed controllers a while ago and was thinking they got lost on the way.

So - panic over ......:)

General Mach Discussion / Re: Lathe spindle brake

Hi Hood,

Thanks for the reply, I have not looked at macros before, so I'm starting right from scratch.....
I imaging my application is a nice easy introduction to macros......now where is my manual.
I'll give it a go, I always find this the best way to learn.
Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Lathe spindle brake
« on: June 27, 2009, 04:03:35 PM »
Hi ll,
I am upgrading a Colchested CNC Lathe to Mach.
The sindle has a magnetic brake and I am wondering how I synchronise the brake with the M3.
i.e i would like the brake to be realease and the after a short time delay, give the M3.
on stop, I would like to send the M5 and after a time (say 0.5 sec) switch on the brake.

any pointers would be appreciated .

Clearly, I've got something missing somewhere....

tc

Hi TC,
I had some problems with TLOs and it was my programming.
I was writing the code T1 M06 G43 L1  (all on one line this confused Mach, somtimes the TLO would be applied and not others)

Now I write
T1 M06
G43 L1   (Split the command onto 2 sperarate lines)

Since then I have not had a single "glitch"

Hope that helps.

Hi rey,

I havn't contacted Peter yet. However I was right about one thing "done something stupid" :-[ :-[ :-[

Well not so much as stupid but I swapped the link selecting rising or falling edge and all works OK. Didn't see anything in the manual about it though.

All working a treat now.

Hi Derek,

Glad to see it is working. The manual does talk about JP1 in a couple of sections. Obviously it is not clear enough. I'll look at updating the manual.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi Peter,

Thanks,
Its working perfectly now. I also Have a DC-06 for a  Denford Orac project I'm working on at the moment.....I'll get that one right this time :)

General Mach Discussion / Digispeed DC-06
« on: May 16, 2009, 08:28:15 AM »
Hi,

I have been using a home brew PWM to 0-10v converter for MACH3 to VFD spindle speed control for about 18mths,
the home brew works OK, the speed hunts a bit so decided to change to a Step - 0-10v Digispeed control.

I swaped over today, but I can only get the OP of the digispeed to vary 0.2 to 2v output.
As I change the speed via Mach, I can see the OP of Digispeed following but no more than 2v so I'm assuming the config is correct in mach. i.e swapped the PWM to step tick boxes and selected pin 14 in ports and pins as spindle.
The board has a solid 5v for the logic and a solid 10v from the VFD to power the analogue side.

I have adjusted the trim pot to max and fiddled with te spindle motor settings in te motor tuning page.
Also disconnected the analogue ip to the drive in case the VFD was dragging the analogue down, no change from the Digispeed though.

Bit stuck >:(  (prob someting stupid I have done (good at that ;D) )

Anyone help please.

Hi everyone,

After much study and work and help from this forum and other resources, I have my servo powered 4th axis up and running. It does everything I wanted it to do.

I the current arrangement, the mill spindle stays active and still functions as normal.

For no, some interesting programming is needed along with a custom machro to to the htread passes, but in time, I think Mach3 will have features to make this much better.

I don't plan to make aluminum bolts from round stock. The part just demonstrates the various functions I wanted to get working.

Excellent demo, congrats on such a great achievement.
