PoKeys / Re: Setting a Jog Scale
« on: November 05, 2010, 08:28:04 AM »
Thanks Boris,

When Mach3 is in step mode the multiplier switch will chance the amount the axis moves per revolution of the MPG wheel. I think I am getting confused because of my previous experience with other CNC controllers.
Thanks,
Paul

PoKeys / Setting a Jog Scale
« on: November 04, 2010, 08:39:08 AM »
I am building a pendant using the PoKeys pendant as a guide. I seem to be running into the same problem that the has been posted in the past but the post ended without a answer to the poster's last question.

The jog scale changes when I am looking at the MPG flyout in Mach 3 when I change the switch but the MPG wheel still moves the axis the same amount per revolution of the MPG wheel. I am looking for a solution that the scale of movement will change for the MPG wheel when I change the scale switch.

Is this possible? Or is the scale switch just used for jogging in increments?

Thanks,
Paul

General Mach Discussion / Floating Head problem
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:11:23 AM »
I am setting up a floating head on my plasma table and using the following code in Mach3 to set the material height.
N5 G28.1 Z.0
N6 G92 Z0
N7 G00 Z.73
N8 G92 Z0
N9 G00 Z-.2
N10 M03

When I manually home the machine the head travels down until the head is pushed up and the switch is made (This is the switch I have configured as the Z home). But when I run the code listed above the Z-axis moves up. Am I missing a setting setting somewere to cause the z-axis to move up instead of down to the torch switch?

PoKeys / Re: Pokeys would you use and a driver question

Thanks for the quick answer and clearing up its uses for me.
Do you know what other devices can be used for motion control other than the Smooth Stepper?

Thanks,
Paul

PoKeys / Pokeys would you use and a driver question
« on: February 07, 2009, 09:45:23 PM »
Hello,
I am interested in try the Pokeys interface. How well does this board work is it as good as using the parallel port to control a machine?

Also, when using the Pokeks interface is the Mach driver reguired?

Thanks,
Paul
