General Mach Discussion / G00 Problem with my CNC mill
« on: June 09, 2009, 09:28:05 AM »
Hi All:

When I test " G1 X1.00 Y0.5", the X,Y motion is fine, but when I test " G0 X2 Y0.75", no motion with X, Y table, buy right X, Y (2.000, 0.7500) values were still displayed.

I don't know what happened.

Best regards,

Richard

Hi, All:

I'm mechanical person with very limited PLC knowledge, will buy a mini PLC from Automationdirect.com, which will be used for my mini-CNC mill controls (such as Workholding, Cooling Pump, Tooling Indexer, etc.), I don't know which one of following two is better for me.

D0-05DD   8 DC IN / 6 DC OUT MICRO PLC W/AC P/S
D0-05DR   8 DC IN / 6 RELAY OUT MICRO PLC W/AC P/S

Could somebody give me suggestion?
Thanks.!

Hi All:

This is just a brainstorm.

Since the role of Mach3 is: Translate G-code into signals of "Direction" and "Steps" to control stepper motors, Can those signals be saved and stored in a physical  "memory"? everytime, while push external "Start" button, CNC-machine run once,...just drectly use those signals.

Thanks,

Richard

I'd like use "Wizards--Circular Pocket"   to cut a circular pocket on a small aluminum plate, I have no much machining experience, can somebody help me fill in the rest of setting?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi All:

I'd like use CNC-mini drill/mill to drill 4 holes on a plate very accuratly, but I don't want to write G-code for this simple job, my idea is drill 1st hole (0,0) (move Z-axis manually), then input 2.13 inch(X-axis) to move 2.13", drill 2nd holes, then input 3.54 inch (Y-axis) to drill 3rd hole, then input -2.13 inch(X-axis) to drill 4th hole.

My question is where I can input those value to let X-Y table move very accuratly (Not via Jog), DRO seems just for displaying result?

Richard

General Mach Discussion / External push-button to trigger the same G-code?
« on: February 01, 2009, 07:44:22 PM »
Hi all,

I'd like convert my mini-mill into "dumb" CNC mill, i.e. only using for cutting same part repeatly (running same G-code),

such as 20 pcs. same parts. I intend to install an external push-button to trigger the same G-code, when I press the push-

button, CNC mill will run G-code to cut first part, and then I unload 1st finished part and load second stock material, press

the push-button again, CNC mill will cut the second part,.....etc. until finished all 20 pcs. parts.

I need some ideas.
Thanks in advance.
