General Mach Discussion / G00 Problem with my CNC mill
« on: June 09, 2009, 09:28:05 AM »
Hi All:

When I test " G1 X1.00 Y0.5", the X,Y motion is fine, but when I test " G0 X2 Y0.75", no motion with X, Y table, buy right X, Y (2.000, 0.7500) values were still displayed.

I don't know what happened.

Best regards,

Richard

Hi, All:

I'm mechanical person with very limited PLC knowledge, will buy a mini PLC from Automationdirect.com, which will be used for my mini-CNC mill controls (such as Workholding, Cooling Pump, Tooling Indexer, etc.), I don't know which one of following two is better for me.

D0-05DD   8 DC IN / 6 DC OUT MICRO PLC W/AC P/S
D0-05DR   8 DC IN / 6 RELAY OUT MICRO PLC W/AC P/S

Could somebody give me suggestion?
Thanks.!

Richard

I'd still like a testing, because ROM or flash memory is very cheap today , it's not easy to move  a computer (G-code/software)  anywhere we want.

Could somebody tell me how to do that testing?

Regards,

Richard

I'm thinking if  signals of "Direction" and "Steps" can be saved in ROM (read-only-memory), directly used for controlling stepper motors, then we can make many complex motion stuffs.(such as complex motion toys for kids, kids just need push on-button.)

Hi All:

This is just a brainstorm.

Since the role of Mach3 is: Translate G-code into signals of "Direction" and "Steps" to control stepper motors, Can those signals be saved and stored in a physical  "memory"? everytime, while push external "Start" button, CNC-machine run once,...just drectly use those signals.

Thanks,

Richard

Tweakie, thank you for your reply, what is the difference between Feed Flunge and Step Depth?

All the best,

Richard

Thanks for the answers!
Hood or Tweakie, Could you give me the suggestion of those specific values based on your machining experience, because this is my first time real cutting, I need some reference values of setting, will adjust them later.
Ramp Dis.   ?
% Stepover  20%
Feedrate    ?     (Unit?)
Rapid height  ?
Feed Punge    ?  (Unit?)
Depth       0.125
Step Depth    ?

Thanks again.

Richard
