PoKeys / Re: NEW: 'Official' PoKeys Mach3 Plugin - 'beta' version v0.01
« on: August 11, 2012, 11:25:37 AM »
Today we released another updated version of the beta plugin.

Updates/changes/fixes:
 - Improved support for matrix keyboards
 - Connecting to PoKeys56E devices with static IP
 - Added support for Matrix LED for even more (up to 128) LED outputs
 - Stability updates in the firmware

The plugin requires PoKeys 3.0.36 firmware, available here: http://www.poscope.com/productattachments/index/download?id=29. The new PoKeys setup now also includes the latest version of the Mach3 plugin.

Please take a look at the PoKeys Mach3 plugin manual (available at http://www.poscope.com/productattachments/index/download?id=77 (PoKeys Pulse Engine and Mach3 plugin manual (20.6.2012)).

There is a short description of the encoders page settings in the plugin. It's simple - hook up the encoder to your PoKeys device, open Mach3, open plugin settings for your device, go to Encoders tab, enable one of the encoders, select which pins you have connected your encoder to, select mapping and it's done.

In this case, you will need to register the kbd48CNC keyboard with the PoKeys software first as described in the manual. Then the keyboard will be detected also by Mach3 plugin.

You should check that you have the latest development (not lockdown) version of Mach3. This step is essential.
Then, you should be able to see your PoKeys56E device in the dropdown list in 'Add new device' dialog - you have to add the PoKeys device first and then configure the matrix keyboard that you are using (are you referring to the kbd48CNC keyboard or a generic matrix keyboard?).

Make sure that you have the latest Mach3 version installed (.062), latest PoKeys software and firmware (3.0.31) and the latest PoKeys Mach3 plugin.
Then - is your PoKeys56U board detected in Mach3 plugins control menu?

You can map digital inputs directly to Mach3 OEM buttons (codes from 1 to 2000). What are the user buttons codes in your case?

Today we released an updated version of the plugin.

Updates/changes/fixes:
  - Mach3 MPG jogging done by PoKeys device
  - Mach3 plugin - Selectable polarity of the emergency STOP switch
  - Mach3 plugin - SetIODevOutput bug fixed
  - Mach3 plugin - limit switch handling bug fixed
  - Mach3 plugin analog inputs now can be reset to inactive, fixed bug with DRO mapping
  - Mach3 plugin - reconnect on lost connection
  - PoKeys55 PoExtBus glitches fixed

One of the most noticeable feature is definately MPG jogging - if enabled, PoKeys handles the axes movement instead of Mach3 engine. This results in way more fluid and responsive movement of the axes under MPG jog. PoKeys devices support only continuous MPG jog, which is the most useful in everyday work.

The plugin requires PoKeys 3.0.31 firmware, available here: http://www.poscope.com/productattachments/index/download?id=29
Mach3 plugin 'beta': http://www.poscope.com/productattachments/index/download?id=75
Manual: http://www.poscope.com/productattachments/index/download?id=77

For those who own PoKeys56E devices, take a look at our new support for Cosm web service (our test feed is available at http://cosm.com/feeds/62592). PoKeys56E devices can now be very easily configured to upload current sensor value to Cosm, where they can be access from all over the world.

Hi, Harry

Although this plugin is in beta version, it still has some bugs. One of them was related to the analog to DRO mapping.
A new version of the plugin is expected to be released today together with a list of other minor and major fixes and improvements.

Matevž
