General Mach Discussion / Unlocking 3's configurations
« on: February 22, 2006, 07:05:06 PM »
Hi,I just installed mach3 and am wondering how to 'unlock configurations'.I went back to do some 'motor tuning' and couldn't 'get in'.I don't think I locked it and know I didn't enter a password.I went to unlock and it asks me for a password...but I don't have one obviously.-Keith

Try doing a 'twisted pair' for the wire(twist them, assuming they are solid,so they helix each other). The input must be a high impedance and I'll bet anything you're environment is nice and dry and you're arm is 'charged'

I could be way off on this but this sounds a lot like a problem I was having with Mach2 and my Sherline. In motor tuning;what do you have the 'minimum pulse width' set at?
If your controller is like mine at all,I had to max it out to get any reasonable cutting rate and even then it was hurting. When I'm done with this project I have a setup on,I'm going to Mach3 which will allow for a longer pulse width I'm told by using the 'Sherline check box' in 'Ports and Pins'.Isn't there aa MaxNC mode in the latest release of Mach2?
Like I say, just a guess because it was so familiar to me.-Keith

I hope it was ok to reallocate the pixels allowed.Mine is circle and oval.I like stickers that are simple and makes someone seeing it ask "what does that represent".My company logo is like that and my favorite coffee shop in town has just a '!' as a button they hand out.Everyone asks me about the button. These look hotter with more pixels.

How about a liberal sprinkling of G92 A0 after a turn?-Keith

Have been using my updated Mach2(6.11) for the past several days but just with code I've been writing.I tried to load a DXF today and found when I click 'import DXF'...nothing?Just closes file drop down panelpanel.
All other file commands work.-Keith

I dedicated this computer to my cnc.It was brand new running 'xp home'. Defrag'd it several times, but when I did some of the suggested 'optimization',which made things really sweet for Mach2,I tried to defrag with both :system tools/defrag and with: mycomputer/disk/right click/defrag and the 'defrag' window comes up but when I click 'defrag' it just 'winks' but 'drive analysis' does not show in the window (the colored lines signifying what type of data is where)and no defrag'ging.Nothing happens.-Keith

I was getting that feeling ,Art(that it was in Mach3).Dare I do another upgrade in two days?(I'm a bit concerned also because I never figured out why my computer won't defrag after I did the 'optimization)I don't suppose Mach3 takes all the parameters from Mach2's .XML files...nah

Hmmm...it's not there in the 6.11 version I downloaded. There is a USB 'box' that's not on the 'screen' you showed.Do you know the 'text edit' to accomplish this?Is there a 'maximum default' that disallows making that number higher in the 'motor tuning window'?-Keith
