Mach Screens / Loading/selecting gcode files
« on: April 17, 2013, 07:14:37 AM »
Hi Guys
I am starting to write a new screen for a touchscreen, and I am try to work out something that has been bugging me for some time.
I am wanting to be able to have a screen where I can display all the gcode files in a certain folder, then using a pair of buttons (up and down) be able to scroll through the programs and then select the one I want. I am trying to get away from the dialog box that opens up to choose a program from.
Has anyone done something like this??? if so how.  I did find a flash based screen that can do this, but I really don't want to use flash.

Thanks
Andrew

General Mach Discussion / MPG troubles
« on: May 23, 2011, 02:48:06 AM »
Hi Guys,

I am hoping someone can help me here.  I have a 3 axis mill which has a KFlop/Kanalog combo.  I am now trying to hook an mpg up to it via a modio board.  But for the life of me I cant get the mpg to work.  I have mpg1 in mach configured to port 0 and pins 6&7 for A&B of the mpg, I have proved that the comms are working correctly by assigning inputs 1 and 2 to the same port pin combo, and I can see the leds flash on the diagnostics screen.  I have selected mpg mode from the jog tab.
Has anyone got any suggestions to get this beast working?

General Mach Discussion / Engraving text
« on: April 19, 2011, 07:16:35 PM »
Hi Guys,
I am trying to find a way write a gcode program so that I can engrave a row of text on my part.  At the moment I use the 'write' wizard to creat my engraving gcode which I then cut and paste into my main program.  But I am wanting to find a much cleaner solution, can I somehow call the relevant write macro from within the gcode program somehow? ie G00 X0 Y0 Z0, M750 "FRED WAS HERE".  All my engraving is the same font, same size, same seperation etc, just the text itself changes, and the position where the text is written.  Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can do this?

Thanks for your help

General Mach Discussion / Saving Fixture Offsets
« on: June 17, 2010, 11:56:06 PM »
Hi
Is there a way to save the fixture offsets from vb.  I have tried DoOEMButton(122), but this still requires you to press the save button.  I am setting my offsets with setVar(5241), but then I am wanting to save the changes.

Mach Screens / Screen Start Position
« on: March 08, 2010, 06:44:16 AM »
Hi
I am just wondering if there is a way to make the mach3 screen start up in a certain position (ie centre screen), and with a certain size, and if it is possible to change the FormBorderSyle?  I have written an application in C# and I have interfaced to mach with the com object, but for one particular task I want to actually look at the mach screen, but I want this to be at a certain spot within my main screen (within a control).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / KFlop/KAnalog
« on: January 27, 2010, 05:04:00 AM »
Hi
I am trying to use Mach3 with the KFlop/ KAnalog boards, and I have my motors turning fine as expected, but for the life of me I can't get any of the inputs or outputs working.
I am using V4.19 of the dynomotion plugin. And the latest lock-down version of mach3.
If I hook an input up to Mach3 ie input 1 and I configure this to bit 136 on the kanalog board, I can see the bit change on the kmotion software but on the mach3 end the input 1 led blinks continually whether the switch is made or not.  Does anyone have experience with this problem???   Do I need to add anthing special to my initalise script that is run on reset??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

VB and the development of wizards / Door Safety Macro Problems
« on: August 18, 2009, 07:08:02 PM »
Hi
I am having a few issues with my macropump, and am hoping someone can help.
This macro works in a fasion, it does what I want but I get random errors occuring, like Cypress enable error, and sometimes I get a divide by zero error and sometime my system freezes (not sure if this one is related).  Sometimes the system will run for hours with no problems and other times I will only get a few minutes out of the beast
Basically what I am wanting to do is if my safety door is open I need to stop and close the current program and send a message back to a C# application - AKSYSTECH.ABORT, and then when the door is closed again re-enable the system and prompt to reload the last program.
I hope you can get the idea of what I am trying to do.

General Mach Discussion / Lathe Threading
« on: November 09, 2007, 08:47:56 AM »
Hi,
I have finally got my lathe up and running, and am having a little trouble with threading.  I am not sure if is just the way mach does threading or if I am not writing the code correctly, or have it configured correctly.
I am cutting a M24x3 thread at 1000RPM and I have a 45deg taper programmed at the end of the thread, but when cutting it gets to the end of the thread and pauses for a moment, causing a groove to be machined around the bar, and then it goes and tapers the thread out as it is supposed to.
Any ideas about what I should be looking at?  I do have it in exact stop mode, should I maybe have it in constant velocity mode???
Apart from that it is working perfectly, I had it threading at 1500rpm doing the same thread but the bar was vibrating a bit to much so I dropped the speed down a little.

General Mach Discussion / Spindle feedback problems
« on: October 26, 2007, 06:51:51 AM »
Hi,
I am trying to set Mach3 up on a lathe.  I am using the index pulse from an encoder mounted to the spindle as feedback.  Mach3 accuratly moniters my spindle speed, I have checked with a laser tacho and the speed shown on the Mach3 screen is always with 1 or 2 RPM of my laser tacho (850RPM).  But when I go to use G95 I get a warning saying no feedback is found in G95 mode.  Any thoughts on what I should be looking at to sort this problem???
Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Galil on a Lathe
« on: October 01, 2007, 08:16:46 AM »
Hi,

I have a lathe that I need to get up and running, and I am thinking of using a Galil card with Mach3.  Just wondering what the status of threading with a Galil card is, does it work yet???
What Galil cards are people using, is any one better than another????

Andrew
