So mach will be like Cam$oft  -$  :o

Is it as complex making Mach work with Galil as it is with the G100?  Or is it more complex? the programming part on your side.

General Mach Discussion / Tool measure switch idea for every one to try.
« on: August 20, 2006, 04:57:07 PM »
I'm in the autobody repair business and as far as I know most of the airbag impact sensors on cars that are in the front on the frame rails or some times in the airbag controller in the car have very nice gold contact switches.  Usually it is a gold plated steel ball held by a magnet and two contacts about a 1/4 away, so when the car hits something hard enough the ball will pull away from the magent and short the contacts and BAM you have a blue nose.  I think the parts from a sensor should make a nice precise touch sensor.  I will give it a try as soon as I get the mill to that stage.  You can get the sensors from any you-pull-it junk yard place.  I might have a few around the shop.

Did you put up a description of your machine on here?  If not, can you.

That is some fast machining!!

General Mach Discussion / Re: Plasma versus Laser for a dummy

Well, since you a building a plasma table then you will be cutting metal.  If you are going to cut only 1mm sheet a ~300+ watt laser will do the trick at a price of about $7,000 +/- 2K for good working one.  If you need to cut thicker... just ad $$$.  Look around on the web for used machinery and alike.

Hi All,

Can you share the hardware you have in your computer running Mach3, like motherboard brand, RAM, CPU.   Just want to see if there is a specific brand that runs better than others.

Thanks
