General Mach Discussion / Re: Sound Logic Encoder Interface anyone?
« on: December 28, 2006, 02:59:17 PM »
I'm thinking of putting Mach on a machine that will be cutting sink holes out in Granite counter tops, and there is no room for error.  The machine will go slow 5-9 IPM while cutting so there will be enought time to hit the eStop but I don't want to stand next to it all day.  I emailed Rogers a few times about board but didn't get a reply.  I would like to test it!  There is another person on the forum that has the board but didn't get it working right yet.

I have decided to go with a Galil 2130 controller and new analog drives...

How are you going to controll the Galil? Mach?

Any one run one of the Sound Logic Encoder Interface cards? I would like to know what is the max feet rate that it can track, I don't think it will be much trought PPort.
Also how is it working for you?

Well, eBay is the cheaper way to go if you find one.  If you want a new one it will be $2,000 min for a spindle, brands like HSD, Colombo search on google for high speed spindle.
