I have a RM25 router that had the same type of controller you have.  I converted it to Mach3 now it does ~400IPM and full 3d.  Here is what you need to do.  Sell the controller from your router on eBay, I got over $150 for mine.  Keep the motors and buy new stepper drives like geckos-- http://www.geckodrive.com/products.aspx?n=520753
You can probably use the G251 it is the least expensive or if you need the machine to have higher speed rapids use the G201.  Get a breakout board from cnc4pc.com model C1G, this board connects the pc to the Gecko motor drives and limit switched and spindle on off relay.  Also need a power supply for the motor drives that you can make your self from a transformer or buy one.

Here are a few videos of the router: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j341ucSZIwU&feature=channel

General Mach Discussion / Re: Bar code scanners?

Here is a pic of it and its a Symbol - "Hotshot", Model LS2104-1000

It loads the program very fast in Mach, perfect if you have other people running same parts over and over on a machine.  I'm gana make a laminated folder with pictures of the parts and have bar codes next to them.
Also it reads only UPC bar codes, I used Elfring UPC software to print the bars.

I bought a Symbol scanner on eBay with a serial connector and it works nice with the plug, FYI.  Thanks to Bryan for the plugin!

Do any 9 pin serial bar code scanners work with the bar code plugin?

Thanks

VB and the development of wizards / Simple SetDRO Script Q?
« on: December 28, 2008, 12:15:16 AM »
Im trying to get the Y machine position DRO value set in the spindle speed DRO and its not doing it?  I tried the SetOEMDRO and SetDRO.  When debugging the macropump the Y value is loaded in var but will not transfer to DRO 202.  Macropump in enabled.

var = getoemdro(84)

setoemdro(202,var)

Thanks

Another thing keep the bitmaps off as much as possible that helps to,  at least on my computer.

You need to open the screen set that you are working on in the highest resolution that will fit your screen with out scroll bars up/down or left/right.
Not sure why but it fixed the same thing for me.

General Mach Discussion / Z THC down working up not working?
« on: December 03, 2008, 11:32:23 AM »
This is in Mill Screen:
I have the UP/Down inputs emulated and the LEDs in Diag. tab light up and the THC move is enabled in Mill tab in ports/pins.  And only the down works when running code but not up? the LEDs light up for up and down.

Do I need to mess with the THC min max DRO's?

The up/down works ok in Plasma screen.  But I need it in Mill screen.

Ver. 3.042.020

Thanks

Your encoders are too high count you need to use under 500 line.  On one setup I use 100 line encoders and can get 1000 IPM with a 90V motor at 80V's.
