General Mach Discussion / FYI Onboard video and video card
« on: June 26, 2007, 12:13:09 AM »
Im putting together a cheapo computer from parts that I have around to run a small router.  And it has onboard video, so I ran the driver test and it was ugly!  So installed a cheap ATI video card and looks like Mach will like this computer now.  It's a Celeron 1.1Ghz just enough to run Mach. 8)

General Mach Discussion / Dual spindle machine control?
« on: February 21, 2007, 08:42:47 PM »
How would I make this happen:

On the machine there are two spindles one with a endmill and another one with a drill, the drill has it's own Z travel by this I mean, the drill moves up and down with the endmill spindle but it also has a air cylinder the moves it up enough so when the endmill is down the drill is above the material.  How would I make a post file to first drill a hole and then have the endmill start from that location?  How do I get Mach to actives the air cylinder to drop the drill and use the Z axis to make the hole then lift the drill then put the endmill in the hole with the same Z axis and cut away?

Thanks

Dennis

Take a look at these cool gizmos.  They run basic code and ladder logic.  This will do perfect for my Brideport BTC II ATC setup.  I like the price very much also.  Maybe latter a forum section for these would be nice.

General Mach Discussion / Sound Logic Encoder Interface anyone?
« on: November 30, 2006, 10:47:00 PM »
Any one run one of the Sound Logic Encoder Interface cards? I would like to know what is the max feet rate that it can track, I don't think it will be much trought PPort.
Also how is it working for you?

General Mach Discussion / Tool measure switch idea for every one to try.
« on: August 20, 2006, 04:57:07 PM »
I'm in the autobody repair business and as far as I know most of the airbag impact sensors on cars that are in the front on the frame rails or some times in the airbag controller in the car have very nice gold contact switches.  Usually it is a gold plated steel ball held by a magnet and two contacts about a 1/4 away, so when the car hits something hard enough the ball will pull away from the magent and short the contacts and BAM you have a blue nose.  I think the parts from a sensor should make a nice precise touch sensor.  I will give it a try as soon as I get the mill to that stage.  You can get the sensors from any you-pull-it junk yard place.  I might have a few around the shop.

Hi All,

Can you share the hardware you have in your computer running Mach3, like motherboard brand, RAM, CPU.   Just want to see if there is a specific brand that runs better than others.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / NFS Wizard ?
« on: December 17, 2005, 12:37:29 AM »
I just downloaded the latest Mach and the Conversatinal wizard will not make G-code for any of the opperations?  When I click on "preview" it goes to a blank preview screen.  When I click "post code" it goes to the first page of the wizard were you select the material.  And no code posted to Mach.  It worked with the last Mach.  I'm prob. doing some thing wrong  ???  What should I start looking for?  The rest of the mach wizards work ok.  It is only the NFS ones that don't work.

Thanks

Dennis
