Show"N"Tell ( Your Machines) / Bridgeport BTC 2 Mill
« on: May 01, 2008, 06:15:48 PM »
Here is a link to the thread on the zone of the BTC mill that I just finished:
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34843

The viper drives are running pretty good.  Need to sort out some noise on the VFD speed control wire that make the rpm go up and down a little while cutting.  I get 125 IPM rapids with 91v to the drives, the motors are 140v I'm starting low and if I need the speed latter i'll get a different transformer for the power supply.

General Mach Discussion / Tangential control manualy?
« on: April 22, 2008, 10:56:38 PM »
Is it possible in Mach3 to position the A axis in tangential control mode and then when you jog the machine will follow the path of the A axis position?

Thanks

Brains Development / Pport inputs in binary with Brains?
« on: April 22, 2008, 10:26:03 PM »
Any one use brains to read four  inputs as binary from a Pport and decoding it to act as 10 or so inputs?

I'm just thinking of using the Pport instead of adding a PLC.

General Mach Discussion / Max encoder counts through Pport?
« on: February 06, 2008, 11:22:24 PM »
Any one know what is the max reliable number of pulses per second through the parallel port for reading a encoder to have it show position in the Setting Tab (encoder DRO)?
Thanks

VB and the development of wizards / Saving DRO values in .txt file?
« on: January 30, 2008, 09:25:53 PM »
Is there any code examples for saving DRO values in a .txt file that can opened later for review?  For instance  GetDRO x and y (encoder values) and save to a .txt file when a input is activated.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Capturing Encoder DRO's?
« on: January 26, 2008, 07:22:52 PM »
Can some point me in the right direction on how to make this happen:  I want to be able to save the encoder dro values that are in the setting tab (OEMDRO#x= 29,y=30)   in a way that they can be loaded in to a cad program to be used there.  Basically like a digitizer.  So i would go to a position press a button then x and y value is stored then next point and so on.   I can figure out the button part but not sure where to send the dro values to be stored?

Thanks

Brains Development / Brain and G code?
« on: January 25, 2008, 10:10:57 PM »
I need to put the Z axis at "g53 g0 z0"  How is that done with a brain?  Do I need to make a button and attach a VB script saying:  code "g53g0z0" and have the brain activate the button?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Brains and Modbus ROCK!
« on: January 22, 2008, 10:53:33 PM »
Got around to play with Plug-in Modbus and Brains today,  got a potentiometer working with FeedOverride  in Mach using CubLoc microcontroller,  a few lines of code in cubloc and a very simple brain and wala it works!

If you want a simple PLC or more I/O's for your project get a CubLoc. :)

General Mach Discussion / Z home before cycle start?
« on: July 27, 2007, 10:42:13 PM »
Is there a way to make the Z go to the top before the machine starts moving after Cycle Start was pushed if a input is active(high)?  I want this to be a safety measure, until the input is low the machine will start moving only after the Z is at the top.  But if the input is low the machine will follow the code normally.

Or if that is not possible then a Z inhibit when the Z is at Machine coordinate 0",  before the machine starts moving with the input high.

Thanks

Dennis
