Mach Screens / Screen 4 question

I have tried to load an original lathe screen set into screen 4 and get a recurring error box, is it me or is it not compatable with the default screens.

Hi,

I have looked in the Mach docs and can not find any reference to timers.  The thing I was looking for was some way of turning on a auto lube pump every 10 minutes for about 30 seconds.

Is there something I have missed?

Mach Screens / Fanuc Look-a-like screen

Hi,

has any body got a turning screen set that looks like the fanuc 6T,11T or 18iT, all the Mach ones I have seen so far are way too complicated and over cluttered.  A nice basic screen is all I want.

Hi All,

I have some proxy switches NPN 5-30 volt with a 2mm sensing distance.  Can anybody give me a reason why I should NOT use these as limit switches.

General Mach Discussion / DC Spindle drive question

Hi All,

my lathe is fitted with a 3/4 HP spindle motor driven by a KB Electronics KBLC-240-D variable speed unit.  My question is this :- Should the spindle run at the same maximum speed in CW and CCW rotation.

Mine will do 2500 rpm CCW and only 1200 CW (reverse)

The lathe manufacturer (Warco Ltd) say this is normal,  its the first time I have seen this on a vari drive.

Any comments?

General Mach Discussion / Spindle speed control

Hi All,

My lathe has a variable speed controller that is operated by a rotary resistor that has a value of 4K7, my question is, can I connect the wires from the speed control into the parallel port without any other resistors.

Also it has a collar round the spindle with slots in and a infra red detector with 3 wires from it, can I also use these for the pulse count.

General Mach Discussion / Zero Return (Home Setting)

Hi All,

I have set up my lathe with home switches.  I am using servo motors with encoders and was wondering,

In Mach3 how is the home position determined?

Is it by sensing the home switch only or is it by sensing the switch and then looking for the zero mark on the encoder?

or is it done some other way?

Hi All,

can anybody tell me if Mach3 is compatable with touch screens, the one I have is a 15" with the touch output on the RS232.

I know I am all questions at the moment but things will change.
