Tangent Corner / Swing grinder setup information
« on: May 31, 2023, 11:56:42 AM »
I inherited an Excel 8" swing grinder in bits I have put it back together and all looks good the spindle runs sweet but I am not happy with the way it grinds.  I dressed the wheel and it has not made any difference.

The spindle head had been removed and when I replaced it I trammed it square to the table like a mill.

My concern is this:-

There was no manual with it or one to be found on line so I am not sure if the head should be square to the table or at a slight angle to stop back cutting.

Has anybody any experience of these type of machine?.

The picture is the machine in question.

Thanks for any help.

Finished Screens / New Simple Lathe Screen Set
« on: July 11, 2019, 02:10:21 PM »
Here you are have a play with this new Mach3 only Lathe Screen set.

Its got big buttons so will work with touchscreens and is colourful, this is because it was originally for education use but I was asked to make a general version because people liked it.

The only things that will change are if bugs are found in it.  Nothing will be added or changed that is up to you to do.

Its not like the standard lathe set, if you click the same green option button some of the screens cycle around different options, Position, Offset and Automatic all do this and the last screen is remembered.

That's it, see what you think.

Update:-

I have added the portrait version now so you can turn your monitor on its side.

« on: June 17, 2019, 09:16:31 PM »
Well folks here is a new lathe screen.

I am just finishing off a few bits and then the Mach3 version will be ready for you all to try.

This is a wide screen set best at 1366 x 768

This was done for education so its colourful and easy to read and use.  Most of what you need is there if its not well its tough.

Bug fixes is all that will change.

« on: August 14, 2017, 01:04:55 PM »
Here is a Mill/Router screen set for you to play with.

Anything it has not got you will NOT get.

Anything you want altering will NOT happen.

It was done for education and other than bug fixes it is what it is.

I have a Mach3 version too if anyone wants to try it.

Here is the link to the Lathe version :- https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=41385.0

Works in progress / Super simple single screen for Mill or Router
« on: July 16, 2017, 04:50:56 PM »
Here is a super simple screen for running a mill or router.  All the clutter is gone and its all you need to run a machine.

It was designed to use in education where all they need is to load some code and press go.

See what you think.

I will upload the files later when I have finished tweaking.

Some of you may know that Mach4 was demonstrated at Cabin Fever Expo in York PA over the weekend of the 12th April 2014

Here are a few pictures of the development team :-

Picture 1, shows Brian in full swing explaining the finer details of the blocking move to be used when attacked by savage monitors.

Picture 2, Steve puzzling over all the lines of code that make up Mach4

Picture 3, Todd waiting for coffee as Brian answers Email.

Picture 4, Paul trying out the 40% power saving claims on the monitors, 2 minuets later he was asleep, we concluded the claim was true
