General Mach Discussion / Re: Unstable Pulse rate
« on: October 30, 2008, 04:22:33 PM »
Thanks for the suggestion.
The machine, while basically unused and therefore 'new', is actually 2 years old. Only Ram speeds supported on the mainboard are 400 and 533.
Having turned off the power saving and CPU speed changing 'sophistication' the wave form now matches the 'good waveform' shown in the 'install_config.swf video.

Sorry I'm new here and just don't seem to be able to find this stuff at all. Call me thick but have not been able to find any reference to these files or an FTP site.

Do you have a link or URL for the FTP site?

Thanks

Thanks for your response.

Is there any way to download the Tutorial Videos so they can be reviewed again offline?

General Mach Discussion / Unstable Pulse rate
« on: October 26, 2008, 08:52:32 PM »
I'm here because could not achieve a stable pulse rate in MACH3.

Intel D101GGC Mainboard with 512Mb DDR400 Ram, 3GHz core Duo CPU.

Pulse rate in both Compatibility test and in Diagnostics varied considerably.

Tried all the XP Optimisation suggestions from the ARTSOFT document including running as a 'Standard PC' - no improvement.

Eventually found post(s) relating to C1E and to RMClock (How_to_run_Mach3_on_a_laptop)

Using the maximal performace mode and setting C1E off using RMClock appear to have resolved the issues.

1. Is there a way to set C1E off permanently so RMClock does not have to be run on start up every time?

2. Is the compatibility test always run at ta fixed 25kHz? - I guess so as it does not change even when the pulse rate is changed in MACH3.

3. Running MACH3 Ver 2.63. Latest manual is for Ver 1.84. Is there a newer manual or an update or anything (presumably there have been changes since Ver 1.84)

Thanks
