Hi, Brian

There are several boards that will do that for small steppers.

If you have a stepper control box you can use a 555 timer with a var. pot/resistor for puls/speed and control dir with 5 volt's.

Can you Fix LC  latest ver. Arc Errors ?.

Thanks, Chip

General Mach Discussion / Re: Why won't the pins go low?

Hi, Tamathumper

I tryed the parallel port program your using.

It is consistently interfering with Mach hear, Shut it down.

The red led's in mach only show the state on or off.

Thy have no relationship whether the output is low or high, In Ports & Pins, Active High or Low is set for pin's.

Thanks, Chip

Hi, Tamathumper

Are you checking for Low/High at the Stepper board ?

Check your Cable, Are pin's 1 to 1, 2 to 2 & so-on to 25, 25, Could be your using a Serial Cable and not a Printer extender cable ?

Some printer cards, cables and cnc boards don't support/use all the same Gnd pins 18 through 25, Thy just use a couple of them.

Check that you have a good Gnd from the computer and your cnc board.

I've seen these a couple of times

Hope this Helps, Chip

Hi, Maxmyo

Give this a try, Change the Dir/Steps Low Actives around.

Also have you tried the other Printer port address for Port #1, Other than std. 0x378, Tried 0x278.

Look at your other cnc program that works, Maybe it is using a different address.

Hi, Bathgate

Hook it up to your boards 12 volt supply with a LM series 5 volt regulator (Radio-Shack has them) 12v in, Gnd and 5volts out, TO-220 case.

This will retain your opto isolation.

PM your phone # if in USA, If you need more assistance.

Thanks, Chip

Hi, Bathgate

The Diag you mentioned in a previous post (see below) should work fine, The reflective media should be 0.150 thou. away and the length of about 3/4 to 1" to give Mach time to see the puls.

I'm Using a 5" disk hear with a optical window pickup with a slot length of 3/4", Works up to 3,000+ rpm, Longer slot higher rpm.

Hope this Helps, Chip
