General Mach Discussion / Re: Testing LPT Port
« on: March 06, 2008, 12:43:51 AM »
Hi, Emtffkev

Not all printer port's use/support all the Gnd. pin's 18-25, So try the others Gnd pin's also.

Your axis dir pins need 0 for one dir and 5 Volts for the other dir.

Some printer port's only putout 3 - 3.5 volts and don't work very well if at all.

Hope this Helps, Chip

Hi, All

Mach loaded with above G-code,

Next three photos, Feed-Hold, Stop, Only Screen Change brings CPU back down.

A axis "on" in ports & Pins, View Screens On, Next three photos, Feed-Hold, Stop and Screen Change.

Only Screen Change brings CPU back down to normal

Thanks, Chip

General Mach Discussion / Re: Feed Rate
« on: March 05, 2008, 02:33:18 PM »
Hi, Adam

Click on the Feedrate setting window as in the Pic. below, Enter the value then "Enter Key", Then follow my post above.

Yes, If your Velocity is set to 500 and your system will not lose steps, Then F500 will work.

G00 uses your Max Velocity setting.

But I think you need to do further Tuning to get it all sorted out.

Thanks, Chip

General Mach Discussion / Re: limit switch trouble
« on: March 05, 2008, 01:43:38 PM »
Hi, Adam

Your  " i do not know what fixed it. i have been fooling with the switches for 2 days."

There are many ways to setup Limit switches, With or without a B-o-Board.

Each Axis, It's own Pin.

Pin 10, X--, X++, X home in series other end to Ground or 5volt's, Depending on your Active Low setting in Inputs.

Pin 12, Y--, Y++, Y home in series other end to Ground or 5volt's, Depending on your Active Low setting in Inputs.

Pin 13, Z--, Z++, Z home in series other end to Ground or 5volt's, Depending on your Active Low setting in Inputs.

All in series and use one pin.

Pin 10, X--, X++, X home, Y--, Y++, Y home, Z--, Z++, Z home, All in series other end to Ground or 5volt's, Depending on your Active Low setting in Inputs.

If pin 11 is an Input, Then it sounds like you wasting it, You gust need the Gnd.

Thanks, Chip

Hi, Rc

I think this would be a go to E-bay solution for sure, Your not going to get a true A-B pulse out-ua this one.

Hi, RC

Sounds like a small Tack-o (Tachometer) to me, But they usually only have 2 wires.

No part # Hu!!, Seen some similar, on small servos

Give us the values, Chip
