G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: CNC Grinder code
« on: October 01, 2012, 01:08:08 PM »
Hi Jeff

I think the CNC control will really cone into it's own when form grinding. There will need to be some clever control when producing curves and rads. because of the changing contact point of the wheel.
I can also only see need for 2 axis control.

Hi Jim

You may already know but be careful with copper as some contains Berillium and if so the fumes can be carcinogenic.

Sounds like mechanical tightness in the guides due to cold and perhaps lack of lubrication.

Hi Al

Nice to se you on here.

I have had similar problems with my set up. With mine Mach3 was missing out whole sections of code.

I think Hood looked at my xml file and he saw some strange things and advised me to create a new xml file. This was a couple of years ago and it is still on my to to list.

Yes Hood, I think that is the logical way to go. I am also looking at replacing the whole table with the 3 axis using slides. i will try and collect some rails first.

Hi Woody1. looks like quite a beast, are the bars on the window to stop it escaping :)

Here is a picture of my machine as I got it.
