sorry but I did answer reply # 26
OK - Read Reply#26 again and give me the Reply# where you answered.

Lets start from scratch please.
You're having a laugh aren't you?

You now have a choice - you can answer my question in reply #26 or as they say on The Dragon's Den - I'm out

Cheers

I've read your post several times and it's not clear to me whether your tool plunged too deep during the G31 move or later when you resumed cutting or both. Can you clarify please?

first: you haven't answered my question in reply#26.

second: Nobody said you needed the machine ON but unless it's CONNECTED where do you think the (e-stop and limit) signals are coming from? Answer: your pins are FLOATING i.e. randomly changing between logic high and logic low with every passing breeze.

I have a K2CNC system
There are many... link?

Initial thoughts... power supply... enough amps?

I changed my Step Pulse to 5 from 0
Why?

You don't have the machine connected?

...AND it would appear the forum doesn't have a smiley icon to show me banging my head on the (flipping) desk.

OK there are several things to change or check.

Motor Outputs:
1) you have the spindle enabled with its step and dir pin set to pin2 of port zero. I suggest you disable this for now. We can sort your spindle later.

Input Signals:
1) Do you actually have limit switches on your machine? if YES then OK else disable the limits.
2) You have the E-Stop Emulated. Untick Emulated. If this solves the E-Stop problem OK else untick active low.
3) You have OEM Trig #1 set to the same pin as E-Stop. Disable OEM Trig #1

Output Signals:
1) You have the charge pump set to port 1 pin 1. Does your system need this?

Jaime - As I've indicated above, I've merged your threads as it just leads to having to re-cover old ground.

Anyway - re: your limits question: IMHO If your machine is "small" and uses steppers and is not going to damage itself if it hits the end stops then you don't really need limits. I've run my router for many years without limits, home switches or soft-limits and never had a problem.

Ian

EDIT: I see Tweakie has already covered this whilst I was merging threads - see what I mean about creating confusion  ;)
