Hm, I will have to try that out, though I am still not sure that this is the issue.

Maybe, maybe not but I guarantee you it's the answer to the question you just asked in response to Terry's last post i.e.

what do you mean by configured wrong? And how can I make it so it is configured correctly?

Whether this IS your issue or just a part of it - you might as well fix this now because you're going to have to at some point.

You might want to check out this post here - particularly my reply #5.

Curious number indeed... It just doesn't align (anywhere close) with the specs you posted - neither does it align particularly closely with any pitch of ballscrew I've come across - metric or Imperial.

That said a quick google results in at least 4 different specs for the "High-Z S-1000/T" depending on where you buy it. So maybe you have the 5th. ;D

Hi
Is 4064 acceptable in the motor tuning? The norm appears to be around 266 in all the tutorials.  Don't want it to kill itself?
Dave

I've done this a couple of times before - I wouldn't have given you it if I thought it was incorrect or "dangerous".  ;)

According to the specs you gave this is correct - and no damage would occur whatever number you put in - it just wouldn't travel the correct distance.

OK - your gcode is fine in as much as it has G20 - so inch units (and your default units are inch). However have a word with whoever wrote your post and ask them to fix their space bar - either that or ask them iftheywritesentenceslikethisaswell.

Anyway - according to your specs you have screws with a 10mm lead and a microstepping factor of 8 and standard 1.8 degree steppers so your steps/per (inch) in motor tuning should be 4064 if my maths is correct.

please post both your gcode file and your xml file. (if you don't know where your xml file is or what it's called then look bottom right of your mach screen for "your profile name" - now look in c:\mach3 for "your profile name".xml. Now copy it to your desktop and rename it to daibeer.xml and attach it to your post (using the FULL reply "additional options" i.e. not the quick reply).

I brought this up here a while back.

I rattled Brian's cage but...

Please post the digitize.tap that the wizard created and the xml file for the profile you're using. Also what OS and where did you specify for the path of the triplet file?

The chip eats a little voltage though and when I add some indicator LEDs I really loose voltage, by about half.
You have a series resistor of the appropriate value on each LED yes?
