Wooooooo Hoooooooooo !!!!!  THANKS!!  I hope it does.  BTW- eventhough I have problems, I just want to say that I think Mach ROCKS!  It's SUCH a nice program.

I can import .dxf files just fine except all my text get stripped out during import.  So far, I have not been able to get the importation of bitmaps or jpegs to work at all.  I've tried messing around with some of the import parameters but all I get are rectangles or diagonal lines and .tap files that are megabytes huge?  Whaddup?

Thanks,
Sid

Thanks Brian for the reply.  I was beginning to think that it was too stupid of a question for anyone to bother with a reply.

Maybe I should have been a bit more specific in my question... let me try again.  Why would you want to "overide" the feed rate.  Can't you just put a new F command line in you G code to change feed rates within your program

Why do 2 different ways to control feed rate exist?

Thanks,
Sid

General Mach Discussion / I want to learn more!!! But, how & where?
« on: February 28, 2006, 02:12:01 PM »
OK, so I've been working with Mach 3 for a couple of weeks now and I have a handle on some of the basics but, the more I peruse the program and all it's options I realize how much I have to learn.  I LOVE the online videos, I think they are really superb.  But, I wish there was more of them.

That being said, where/how can I learn more about doing some more advanced things (i.e. learning shortcuts, learning G-Code tricks, wizards, etc).  Does anybody offer classes/seminars on Mach?    Are there Mach Gurus for hire that would/could teach me?

Thanks for the replies!

General Mach Discussion / What's the difference between FRO & F ??

I know this is a rudimentary question but, I just can't seem to figure it out.  These parameters seem to be attached (i.e. not independent of/ to) each other.  Being new to all this I'm a bit befuddled.

Thanks in advance for any/all replies!

;D  Yep, That does it!  Thank you!

One interesting note...  Did you know that if you double click on the graph another display properties box pops up?  It looked like a programmers tool so I just closed it figuring I would end up screwing something up.

Weird- the manual and the video says that you should be able to tweak your acceleration and velocity and test by using the cursor keys.  I have to close the tuning window to get the motors to move.  It's not really a big deal I just have to do some extra clciking but, I was wondering if this is happening just to me or is it everyone noticing this?

Could it be because my computer is an old P.O.S.?
