I think you probably have the "No FRO on Que" box checked in the General Configuration page.

Maybe I am missing something here but couldn't you just use another output other than what is designated for the spindle?

For example... let's say you use Output 4.  Set it to be used on a pin which is vacant.  Connect a 5VDC relay to that output and use that Relay to control your spindle.  Shouldn't be any delay there?

Then yiou would just need to create an M Code command to trigger the output from your program.  Not quite sure how to do that but I bet there are those smarter than me who could help???

Just a thought...

Basically Active Low/High refers to polarity and the state in which a switch is in to trigger in Mach.  Some people will set their limit/home switches to always have signal runing through them when the swicth is triggered it disengages the signal and tells Mach -"I've been triggered".  This is the most preferable way because if a problem arises with your switch (i.e. bad switch) you will be made aware since Mach will trigger a reset.  This method is called Active High (I think)

Other People will set p their switches with the traditional lightbulb method-i.e. power comes to the switch and sits there until the switch is engaged.  When the switch is engaged it will send that signal to Mach and say "I've been triggered".  This is Active Low.

In other words, in One scenario a LACK of power causes a trigger, in the other scenario an introduction of Power causes a trigger.  Mach is capable of runing either way- it's the user's choice BUT... Active High is more commonly used AND safer!!!

General Mach Discussion / Re: Shuttle pro V2 problem

Just for the excersize of 'process of elimination'.  Do the other functions on the Shuttle work?  I.O.W.- If you have a button to toggle your spindle does that work?  Can you select different Axi (a message shows in the message dialog in Mach)?  I'm just trying to isolate if this is just related to miving the motors or a total Shuttle meltdown?

Did you install the software that came with the Shuttle?  If so, that could be the problem.

Is Quicktime runing on this machine?

Scott,

This ijust a 'shot in the dark' for what it's worth.  I have noticed a pluthera of communication problems when I hooked up my SS to a computer that has USB ver 1.0 on it.  All kinds of weirdness that was really hard to T-shoot.  Finally I decided to disable any onboard USB Hubs and installed a Ver 2.0 USB/PCI card.

All problems disappeared.  SS wants USB ver 2.0 anything else is a crapshoot.
