General Mach Discussion / DRO for Slaved Axis not displaying
« on: August 14, 2006, 02:19:16 AM »
Trying to get a Slaved axis to run.  I think I set it up according to the manual but for some reason the 4th DRO doen't change.  What could I be doing wrong?  Help!

Thanks,

Also... go to the config menu and select 'logic'  make sure the 'use safe Z' box is checked.  If it's not, check it and relaunch Mach 3

General Mach Discussion / Screensavers & Mach3
« on: August 10, 2006, 01:21:19 PM »
Has anyone noticed that when Mach is in 'reset' mode the Screensaver never turns on.  However, when I am runing a long program the screensaver DOES come on.  The program still runs fine except the Tool Path Trace stops while the Screensaver is runing.

OK, so this is probaly the most frivolous of concerns but, this is backwards to me.  Shouldn't the Screen save turn on when the machine is in reset and NOT when it is runing a program?

Just Curious,
Sid

Go To Button??  Are you talking about the Go To Z Button?  Which version of Mach3 are you runing?

Don't recognize the version number you are referring to.

If you are runing Mach 2, I would upgrade to Mach 3 ver 1.84.002.  If you are runing Mach 3 ver 1.9 (or above) I would make sure that you are runing the most current version available (I think it is 1.90.065) that should get you on the right track.

That could be a problem with the Screenset not being compatible with the version of Mach you are running.  So... next question- what version are you running?

Glad to hear you are making some headway!

Re: the pin/ground enable issue- are you measuring voltage on the cable or on the actual connector coming off the computer?  If your measuring from the cable, you should be aware that some printer cables do not have all 25 pins connected since printers tradtionally do not use all 25 pins to transmit/receive data.  Just a thought.  Good luck!
