Actually I think I noticed this a couple of versions ago but never got around to mentioning anything.  Today it got really annoying and here I am...

I can't get my rapid heights (in any wizard) to do anything but 0.00 (Yes, I have used the enter key).  Z Top,  Depth, everything else- No Prob.  Put that rapid is hurtin me BAD!

Also, I keep getting error messages, then the Debug VB Script window pops up after Mach sees a S command.  The file runs OK but, I have to close the VB Script Debug window.

None of this a show stopper but, I was wondering if it was just me or if others had found a workaround yet?

Thanks,
Sid

LazyCam (Beta) / LCAM Ver 2.66 has new layout and I'm confused...
« on: November 18, 2006, 05:10:44 PM »
It seems that my "layer Control" button at the top has been replaced with 'Autoclean Settings'.  I like the new Autoclean settings button but, I kinda miss my layer control.  Is it gone forever?  If so, how can I prevent a layer from being cut but NOT delete it from the file?

Also, I accidentally closed the Layer/Object Properties box and couldn't get it to show again (I finally closed LCAM and re-opened and there it was but, is there a way to show and hide it without getting out of the program?

Thanks,
Sid

General Mach Discussion / AttaBoy Team Artsoft!!
« on: October 02, 2006, 05:16:41 PM »
Dudes,

I've been away from my machine for awhile and have finally a chance to download and run ver 2e.  FANTASTIC IMPROVEMENTS!  I'm so stoked!  The new Safe Z config screen is BRILLIANT!  New Tools Path Open GL stuff is VERY cool (on the trippy scale I'd say it's around a 9.1-a good thing!).  The Shuttle plugin is pretty cool too!

Let's see, what else?  Oh yeah, the new G-Code to plain English is a nice touch (but for some reason mine says "Rapid to 1" eventhough I have a G01 and NOT a G00).

I could go on and but I have to go and Jig up another part-

Thanks a TON you guys for all of your hard work!  It really shows and is TOTALLY appreciated!  ;D

Very Best Regards,
Sid

I can't see it anywhere on the General Config screen.  Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thank You!

General Mach Discussion / Screensavers & Mach3
« on: August 10, 2006, 01:21:19 PM »
Has anyone noticed that when Mach is in 'reset' mode the Screensaver never turns on.  However, when I am runing a long program the screensaver DOES come on.  The program still runs fine except the Tool Path Trace stops while the Screensaver is runing.

OK, so this is probaly the most frivolous of concerns but, this is backwards to me.  Shouldn't the Screen save turn on when the machine is in reset and NOT when it is runing a program?

Just Curious,
Sid

I am curious about this.

I posted a thread a while ago because I am having difficulty getting the overide limit button to let me click reset in order to move off the limit switch.  As stated in the other thread, everything looks Kosher (i.e. the limit O-ride limits LED on the settings page is flashing red and the Limit OV LED on the Diags screen is steady green.  But when I click reset, nothing happens, I stay in Emergency Mode.

This leads me to beleive that somehow I have something hooked up wrong with my Limit switches.  Currently my E-stop button is inline with my limit switches and I am thinking this is my problem.

Therefore the question- is a E-Stop request and a Limit Request the same to Mach?  In other words, can someone tell me if they have found this to be true...
if you hit your E-stop button there is no way to reset Mach out of Emergency mode UNLESS, you reset your E-stop button and then Click 'reset'.  Whereas, if Mach sees a limit switch activated, it WILL allow for a reset out of Emergency mode (assuming the manual overide limits button is selected).

Thanks for any insight!

Sid

Anybody have an idea why I can't get that dog to light up?  Ver 1.84

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Here's a weird one.  Program runs fine except every once and a while (usually when my back is turned for a second) I'll get an estop request and the machine will shut down.  I'll do a "Run from here" and continue and all is OK.  But where the heck does this estop request come from.

I thought maybe it was my cheap/Barney McGee limit switches?  Got new nice Honeywell's and nope same problem.  Perhaps bad wiring?  New wires installed- same problem.

So, I'm glancing through the bible, I mean the Mach 3 .pdf manual and on page 5-22 there is a little blurb about a "Use Watchdogs" check box.

Anybody know anything about this sitch and/or if I should check/uncheck this box to see what happens?  Any down side to disabling the watchdogs?

Thanks,
Sid
