SmoothStepper USB / SS losing Data on Long NC Files
« on: May 17, 2010, 05:41:06 PM »
Has anyone had problems with the SS and running extremely long nc files?  I try to run a long nc file and the SS will lose data at the very begining of the program. I cut the NC file in half and it is running fine.  Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? I does not happen on shorter files. :-\

Thanks,
Tom

I had the same problem.  The way I got it to work was to uninstall the drivers that came with the camera, and then it would work in Mach, but then it will not work outside of Mach.

General Mach Discussion / MPG & Keyboard Jog question
« on: May 03, 2010, 04:56:24 PM »
I have just installed a CNC4pc MPG2 and the brains that go along with it. I am using a smooth stepper also. The mpg is working fine, my problem is that I can no longer jog with the keyboard. Does anyone know how I can use either the MPG of Keyboard to jog?. Even if I disable the brains I still cant jog with the keyboard unless I reinstall my XML file from before I enabled the brains, but as soon as I enable the brains I can no longer use the keybeard no matter what I do.

Thanks,
Tom

SmoothStepper USB / Need help with MPG and Smoothstepper
« on: April 30, 2010, 12:45:23 PM »
I just got a MPG2 from Kelling.  I have it hooked up to the LPT2 on the smooth stepper. I have it set to the setting that I could find on the CNC4pc Site, I am using the c-10 BOB. I cant even get the power light on the MPG to come on. I am really lost and could use some direction.
I am including my XML file.

Thanks,
Tom

General Mach Discussion / A-axis not working right after Mach upgrade
« on: April 15, 2010, 05:05:34 PM »
I tried to update Mach to the latest lock down version. I was using 3.041 and the current Smooth Stepper plugin, everything was working fine. After the update I can jog all of the axis's no problem but when I try to run a program, that ran fine in the old version, will not run right in the new one.  Now whenever the z-axis is moving at the same time as the a-axis is rotating everything goes to a crawl. but the z retract and the x move back are fine. I tried changing every setting that I could think of but nothing works. If I run a program that only uses the x,y, and z axis's it works fine. Does anyone have any idea on what is going on?  For now I will just go back to the old version.

General Mach Discussion / Re: No screen adjustment after feed hold

After pressing feed hold I jog an axis away from the current position, then when I press start again the prep move screen pops up.  The version of smooth stepper in the most current one.  I have it installed in the old Mach and the new.

Thanks,
Tom

The Version that it worked in was 3.041.  The window that would pop up has a title of Position preparation at the top.

Thanks, Phil... But in the old version a screen would pop up giving the XYZ coordinates and then the was a box to enter a rapid to position z Height and there was a check box to start the spindle.

Thanks Again,
Tom
