General Mach Discussion / MPG & Keyboard Jog question
« on: May 03, 2010, 04:56:24 PM »
I have just installed a CNC4pc MPG2 and the brains that go along with it. I am using a smooth stepper also. The mpg is working fine, my problem is that I can no longer jog with the keyboard. Does anyone know how I can use either the MPG of Keyboard to jog?. Even if I disable the brains I still cant jog with the keyboard unless I reinstall my XML file from before I enabled the brains, but as soon as I enable the brains I can no longer use the keybeard no matter what I do.

Thanks,
Tom

SmoothStepper USB / Need help with MPG and Smoothstepper
« on: April 30, 2010, 12:45:23 PM »
I just got a MPG2 from Kelling.  I have it hooked up to the LPT2 on the smooth stepper. I have it set to the setting that I could find on the CNC4pc Site, I am using the c-10 BOB. I cant even get the power light on the MPG to come on. I am really lost and could use some direction.
I am including my XML file.

Thanks,
Tom

General Mach Discussion / A-axis not working right after Mach upgrade
« on: April 15, 2010, 05:05:34 PM »
I tried to update Mach to the latest lock down version. I was using 3.041 and the current Smooth Stepper plugin, everything was working fine. After the update I can jog all of the axis's no problem but when I try to run a program, that ran fine in the old version, will not run right in the new one.  Now whenever the z-axis is moving at the same time as the a-axis is rotating everything goes to a crawl. but the z retract and the x move back are fine. I tried changing every setting that I could think of but nothing works. If I run a program that only uses the x,y, and z axis's it works fine. Does anyone have any idea on what is going on?  For now I will just go back to the old version.

General Mach Discussion / No screen adjustment after feed hold
« on: February 24, 2010, 02:22:08 PM »
I just updated to the newest lockdown version of Mach. When I am running a program and hit feed hold then move the  axis's from the current position, then when I hit cycle start again I am no longer getting the screen that usually would pop up before the axis move back to the position in the program.  I looked and I don't know what setting I am looking for, or if this is a bug.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Newbie need help with Lathe
« on: May 01, 2009, 10:55:26 PM »
I am just starting out with lathe.  I have bobcad 23 lathe cam. Is there is anyone out there that could post a bobcad lathe file, for output to mach so I can learn from it.  I have created a test file in bobcad and posted it in a mach post but when I load into machturn I can see some of the tool path but where ever there are arcs the screen has a bunch of circles. I am not sure of what I have setup wrong.  My code is outputting I,K for arcs, I also tried with r arcs, same thing. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to get this figured out. I have in closed a copy of the g-code.

Thanks
Tom

I am looking for advice on what hardware and wiring needed  to begin to use spindle speed control on my converted  CNC Mini Lathe.  What boards can anyone suggest, and if you could point me in the direction to find out how to wire the lathe, it does have a variable speed control knob on it.

Thanks for any help you can give.

General Mach Discussion / Can input led's stay on after e-stop
« on: March 24, 2009, 09:13:14 PM »
I was wondering if it is possible to have led's in the diagnostics stay lit after and external e-stop from any of the limit switches or any other led's causing the e-stop. It would make trouble shooting when I have a problem easier if they would stay on till I manually clear them.

Thanks,
Tom

General Mach Discussion / need help Setting up external ref all home button
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:15:58 PM »
I am trying to set up an external input button to Ref all axis home. I tried using the OEM code 105, but when I run it the z axis will home hits the switch but does not reverse it keeps trying to go up. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way that I should be trying to do this.

Thanks,
Tom

PoKeys / Need Help with Pokey & Mach
« on: October 21, 2008, 06:22:46 PM »
I need help setting up a button input in mach3. I want to set up an external reset button with Pokeys. I have the updated plugin for mach and I have the current version updated in the pokeys board.  I have enabled pin 13 on the pokeys board as an input. In mach I have set up port 10 input 13 in the ports and pins setup, in the mach hotkeys setup I have set trigger 13 to oem code 1021. Please tell me if I have done something wrong. Nothing happens when I press the button. I bring up the pokey diag menu in mach and it does not show anything happening when I press the button. If someone could please help me with this one input setup the rest will be easy.

Thanks,
Tom

PoKeys / Pokeys Mach Setup Help
« on: October 06, 2008, 10:06:58 AM »
I have my pokeys board setup and configured for an input on pin 1 and I have a switch wired to it. My question is how do I program Mach to read the input for the button to reset mach ( for example). If someone could give me a demo Brain or tell me what I need to do to get this to work I should be able to figure out the rest.

Thanks,
Tom
