Stan,

I don't know if you need anymore .png's to test with, but here's a couple of special ones I used for some LED's.

Stan, will we be able to easily (to a degree) convert a screen that is being worked on in screen4 over to JetCam?

The reason I ask is because Screen4 has pulled some weirdness on me twice this evening that has wasted about 2 hours each time (everything decides it want to move down about 500 pixels and then while trying to fix that, everything is gone after a save).  It's done this before and I'm about ready to rip it out by it's .dll's  >:(

Richard,

Do you perhaps have a older version of RD?  This was made in V4.

My aluminum plate has an adhesive backed flexible magnetic strip on the underside.  It's non-conductive and I can stick it to the frame of my machine when not in use.  Just use the total thickness of the plate and magnetic strip for the plate thickness setting.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Capabilities of MACH3

Hi Shayne,

Quote
Does it allow me to pull in 3D solid models and generate G-code?

No, you would need CAM software that can post G-code for the model.

Quote
Does it generate the step/direction output that is necessary for the Gecko drives? (if so, what is the interface to the host PC?)

Yes, parallel port.

Quote
Does it support such things as limit switches?

Yes, limit and home switches.

Quote
Is there a hardware interface manual that I can download and take a look at?

Yes, go to the top of this page and drop down the 'Tutorials' list and you'll see douments and videos.

What exactly do the wizards do?

The 'Wizards' are add ons that bring up a page that you can fill in parameters and values to generate cutting files for various tasks such as drilling , pocketing, circles, etc.

Not sure here as I have never used Mach2, but do you have some kind of 'Home Offset' value entered in 'Homing and Limits' or in the 'G28 Home Location Coordinates'?

I've been a long time CorelDraw user for artsy designs for CNC cutting (TurboCad for exacting stuff).  I've used Corel Photo-Paint some for resizing photos and some touch up, but I'd never try to tackle something like this with them.  I looked at Illustrator and PhotoShop, but just never really got into them (something about their interface).  RealDraw was just plain easy and fun, not work.

CorelDraw has about the best set of alignment tools that I've used and RD would really benefit from the same.  RD's align top, bottom, left , and right are more of a align center vertically and horizontally instead of aligning to the edge of the last selected object.  A spread align would be handy also.

When locking down the background, you should be able to box select on top of it and also not be able to move it with the arrow keys.

I've got a few other nits to pick, but that doesn't belong here.  I should look to see if there's a place for comments/suggestions on their site.

All in all, Ive enjoyed making this screen.  I just need some more time now to finish it, but I need to make a living too.   ;)

General Mach Discussion / Re: Limit Switch Problems - BAFFLING!

It still sound like the switches are set backwards in Config/Ports and Pins/Input Signals.  I think you should have a red X in the 'Active Low' column.

Also check the settings page for 'Manual Override Limits' or 'Auto Override'.  If on, then you should be able to reset and move off the switches.

The pupil has excelled past the tutor. :(

No, not really, RealDraw just makes it easy.  ;)  If they would fix a few quirks and add some more alignment options, it would be even better/easier.

"Pride cometh before a fall".... I actually had to remake half of the main screen due to a 'Save As' and a file overwrite that I still can't figure out what happened.   :(

Heres the 'Program Run' Screen.
