Hi Lee,
Thanks for the info. The reversed axis mods seem to work great. Good going as
other users should find it helpfull.

I do have a few issues when using it along with the SmoothStepper but lets find out the
cause before posting anymore about it.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: MachTurn wizard problem

VINCE,
Didn't try your code, but i always look / dry run in MACH Turn . Find the bad line since manny times its just a XZ move and you need to just have one or the other first or as individual moves.

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Re: New version of CopyCat, V1.1

Ron,
Happy about the changes and will test it out. Got the video camera tweaked, Xbox for moving around, but stiill need
a wide screen and confortable chair when using Copycat.
Don't worry about the manual as  i stopped in anticipation of changes. I'll update it to include the latest info when i get time.

Mainer,
Thought you would have recieved more replies than you have so far. In that thought, and thinking about your
task, here is an idea. Why not have the members do a review of the manual ? Seperate pull down by page pull down manual review. Post a shot of a pull down or section of it and simply ask......what is not clear in the manual relative to this page or part of the page. This way you would get a full review by the users and know any problem area.
Yes, it would take time, maybe a few months, but then, it certainly would be complete.
Just a thought,

General Mach Discussion / Re: thread problem
« on: February 09, 2009, 07:46:22 PM »
WOODY,
I just have a Sherline lathe that is CNC, so with finger pressure or usng the manual spindle rpm adjustment
you can play with slowing the spindle down and see what happens. Don't even think about something like that
with some other lathe. Even a punny lathe can hurt you!

The X axis shouldn't move at all when once the threading starts. I think i am correct in that all variations
in cutting, when spindle slows down, are taken care of in the following Z axis feeds.  It will be a few days before i can experiment in an intelligent way.

Lee,
I will be testing and maybe more so than i wanted to.   ;)

Sent you a PM.

As usual i seem to have a way to stick my finger somewhere and get it stuck!  ;D

A reference section which provides links relative to a specific topic for additional information?

I second what Brett said about different settings and what it can affect. ( it could be like a chart
/ spread sheet settings across the top and side and an x showing what it affects)

Maybe a good way to see what is required is to scan the posts and look for common postings.

I'm experiencing a funny one while using the SS. When jogging with the keyboard, the axis will stop imediately.
When jogging using the zbox360 the axis won't stop unless i move the stick all the way to the other side and then the axis may reverse. Speed dosn't matter, even at a crawl. Seems like there is not much of a transitiion
between stick left or right.
Any experience around this or suggestions?
Is it a smoothstepper thing??

Ron,
I can draw anything you want in CAD. I just never fooled with the screen designer ( i will / want to, but just have to manny irons in the fire ).

A cancel button would be fine to cancel an Arc move.

You can get a full circle ( very close circle ) out of the arc: ie
G1 X0 Y0 feed move
start arc
G1 X1 Y1 is 2nd point
now for the last move use X=1.0001 and Y=1.0001 (or -.0001 from the start / .9999 )
end arc
Just a work around.

Radio Shack sells a USB video camera for $19 ("GIGAWARE" and it works if you don't have one). I have
some high resolution ones but they will not work. Was trying out the XBOX control last night.  8)

Hmm....wide screeen TV monitor, game control, comfortable chair.....using CC can turn out to be very
relaxing!   ;)

I would prefer to have the video screen as i have shown it. Just my reasoning, but, it keeps what you need to
do what CC was originaly meant to do all on one screen. The feeds want to be kept on the main screen along
with the DRO's.  Besides just picking points, you may want to actaully be doing a complete code file.
Going to another screen breaks your thought pattern / may be a distraction. These are only suggestions
for kicking around. Everybody works differently, I just like Chocolate better than Vanilla.
BTW the tab brings up a blank partial screen.

I figured the biggie wouldn't work but at least we know. That said, then CopyCat stays as first intended.
