Here is a pic of my tweaked video camera. Magnification is about 10x. The quarter gives you an idea of size.
The how to modify will be an appendix in the CopyCat manual.

Here is a probe i made for trying Copycats hole centering addition. Using the video camera works very well, but
i wanted to try the other way. The probe was made such that you can make probe tips of a shape that suites you,
thus the tip is  removable. Runout when placed into a Albrecht chuck is 0.001". The how to make and use will be an appendix in the CopyCat manual.

Thanks for the posting Gerry. I will have to try your macro out.

One thing that i always disliked about exploding text was that you just got lines.
Depending on what your doing it dosn't look good.
For one project, drew each letter of the alphabet using lines and arc's and the gcode / amount of
movement was cut big time. Darned if i can find that drawing or the single line text file for windows.

You can buy single line text but I'm just too cheap!

HI All,
Did some thread cutting on my Punny  ( Sherline ) lathe today.
All the threads were done using the SmoothStepper, 20 TPI  @ 29 deg, varying the depth of cut,
and one case spindle speed also, using the wizard / M76. A single slot disc is used. You don't see a change in the rpm reading
when using the SS but you do see a change in the feed rate. The feedrate varies according to the spindle rpm.
Note the .009" passes made at 150 rpm and a change in feed rate of approx 18%. You could hear the spindle
slowdown and watch the Z change. The pitch dosn't vary as shown in the pictures and frankly not much
difference between the threads. During the 60 pass cuts i varied the spindle rpm more than 10 times  ( i can'y say
 how much because i prefer to watch where my fingers are ) and if you look at the cut / blued trace lines you can't even tell.
The threading works great.

When I  get a chance i will try the equivilent using G32. ( but if i remember it behaves the same way ). Never once did the x axis change movement.

Something wrong with your nc file. Tried one in the soda machine and got a empty can.

REV C of the CopyCat manual was posted in members docs.
A new section ( 5.7.5 FULL CIRCLE / page 8 ) was added which explains how a Full Circle can be done.

Post any comments and suggestions you may have.

As already stated backlash compensation dosen't work, but, it is being worked on.
I have not found any problem with using the wizards ( haven't tried them all ).
Have run into a problem with using the XBOX360, but, both Greg and Lee
are working with me on it and should be sorted out shortly.

You may want to check out the WARP9 web site and see what is being posted there.
