Hmm.......
I would reformat  and reinstall Windows. Just my nickle. Additionaly i would purchase a program like Acronis.
You use the program to make an true image file of your hard drive and if something goes bad
you bring it back in a short time frame. Additionaly, format your hard drive so on one of the partitions the only thing you have there is the operating system. Can replace that in 5  minutes or so.

1/4-20 thread 402rpm @ 40 passes.
Bad pass in Al at pass #11 in Al and #5 in CS. I only have the error report for the CS one and is attached.
At least the error correction kicked in at an early stage and I didn't need to stop the threading.  
After the CS 5th pass it had a lot of passes to recover such that the final few cleaned up the cutting.
The finished threads have a lead error of 0.050"  0.040"/ inch decrease. That's almost a full thread!

Right on Hood. There are just so many stupid things that you can do and not realize it.
I always have the Estop switch in my hand. There is a different thinking when using the lathe.
The bigger the machine the worst damage that can occur. The closer you work to the chuck or tailstock,
the longer I just stop and take a look at things before hitting the start button. Even with a the kill switch in
you hand there is almost no time to react.

The best way to build up confidence is to just use the lathe. Go through each of the wizards. Hmm....been trying to do that for over a year!

It's been some time since i fooled with it a lot to see just the affect of the different settings.
I just tried it in version .028 and it does behave differently than what i remember.
Dosen't seem right as you said.

Correct, as it's not even mentioned  in the manual. CopyCat only gives you a Gcode based on using the video camera crosshairs. I guess you could set the tool size, and use the circle to  trace around the object thus providing an offset with a somewhat known offset from  the crosshairs. But then again you could also use the scaling feature in MACH when running the program. You can also edit the program manualy. There is nothing automaticaly done
for compensation that i am aware of.
