Do either of those software packages provide for generation of gcode for Mach?
I don't use them. If so there would be no need for a DXf inport
I am wondering just how old of a Mach version the EZrouter uses.
Not sure, but real early versions of mach provided for import of DXF's ....before my time...
so don't qoute me on this.

There are folks in here that use SheetCam maybe they can chime in. It may be quicker to learn than BobCAD...am only quessing!

Sorry I can't help you out. Appreciate you trying to help the guy and i hate to see money go down the drain. I can't say what the limitations / bugs or whatever there are in LazyCam since i have no experience in the specifics of Plasma.

You may want to do a search "plasma" as i know there are postings in here ( never paid much attention to them).

Anybody out there using a plasma machine?.....please chime in with your expertise.

Know nothing about EZ Router software.
Do you mean EZ Router is a modified version of LazyCam?

Don't cover Plasma in the manual. In the manual i state that there is a 50 line limit if not licensed.
Frankly, it may be more or less as i have seen different  numbers posted over time, but, it is still restricted if a Demo.

The latest version of LC is 3.00.2, i haven't updated tp Mach ver 036 yet, but i thought that a new install of Mach would install ver 3.00.2 of LazyCam.

I have done a rather quick update of the manual, a lot of work to be done, but in the mean time here is the link:

Maybe you need to clean up your pc and make sure it's using the correct driver.
Here is how:

Go to RUN> SEARCH type in Driver Test, when the search is done delete all the files which say DRIVER TEST
except the one that is in the Mach3 folder ( where you installed Mach3)

Go to RUN>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM and select HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER>and in the listing open MACH
X PULSING ENGINES , right click and uninstall the driver

Go to Mach3 folder and click on / run the DRIVER TEST and let it run (this will reinstall the driver)

Empty the Recyle Bin

SO what you will have done is removed all versions of the driver from the pc except the one Mach should be using,
and reinstalled the driver.

If you don't feel confortable doing this then don't do it.

We have all been were you are. One of the best things you can do is find someone in your area that can come over and spend some time with you as that would jump start you in the learning curve.
If that is not available just start posting.

Do you use Skype? If you do, then i will offer you some of my time.

Right on Jeff,
A friend has a neat setup. He used a large shop vac which is located outside in his shed and it's vented to the air.
Used PCV pipe for the ducting ( cheap compared to thin walled duct tubing ) and works quite well. He doesn't have the noise from the vac and gets rid of the dust. Your safety point is well taken and some of the imported woods can be just down right nasty. Especially if your allergic to them.

An air conditioner filter and placed outside the fan for an buck cut up into little squares would make a cheap filter that should do the trick. Just change them often.

If i have the time and in the mood, well time flies. It all has to do with my work training...
namely you look at something and say......what's wrong with this thing!
I want LT to be a program that a user ( and i am one of those users ) will enjoy using such that
they can't find a better program for the buck they spend.
Besides, how else can you attempt to write a meaningfull manual if you haven't gone through all the pitfalls yourself.
Rather spend the time upfront then type replies to user problems later!

If you got the time hopefully we can support your efforts and there will be a nice program for
turners.
