Ken,
 One of the things i did in making up a tailstock was to make sure that the base was perpendicular to the table and centerline.
Same goes for the rotary mounting. This way is it quite easy to accurately and quickly allign the two.
Just a thought.

Save yourself a lot of agrivation. Spend three bucks and buy a drafting degree templet and mount it on the shaft for quick checking. It will be ok to say around one degree. To check for backlash you can use an indicator just like a linear axis only you need to convert the non-movement to degrees and it may vary depending on the gear box you have. Another cheap way is to mount a $1 lazer pointer such that it points on the the wall some distance away.

There is a Mach3 wizard list in Members Docs. Believe it covers all of the wizards for the mill. The file  has an associated graphics for each wizard.

Hmm.....
All the threading i have done was with version .030 to .033 and haven't even updated to .036 yet.
But i manualy set the rpm. When you thread, the feedrate will be changed based on the actual rpm Mach is reading.
The reading is based on the index pulse.
-Disable any Turn Diagnostics plug in
-check Use spindle feedback in syn mode

Rather than seeing what Mach is displaying for a feedate maybe you may want to thread a "scribed  line" and see what happens.
 I see two different issues, namely a threaded feedrate and an unthreaded feedrate.
There is a difference in G94  to G95. So not sure for a controlled spindle if one, both, or whatever is possibly screwed up.

Have a look at Appendix "F" of the manual
Can you post your laptop PC  info as i have made a collection of info on them that have been replied to in this thread.
LazyTurn only..........
The appendix is just a storing place for pc related info at the moment but at least you dont have to look through 120 pages to find related info.
