Dear Bob,
Your drawing does leave something to be desired...but..... i have remarked about drawing quality before to you.
The better the CAD work the more chance of having things go well. What more can i say....LOL

Explain the problem as you see it?
What are you trying to do? or How do you want to do the machining?
Is there a particular order you want to machine?
Pocket some, cut some, etc as i don't have the foggiest idea....... ???
I do see that some of those elongated slots didn't post  and i have already said they can be a problem and also recommended that you assign them to individual layers / levels before importing so  you can deal with them on an individual basis. (btw, i don't know why they present a problem to LC at times )

I get the same error, so i backloaded it from Mach3 Mill into LC and then reposted it and all was fine.

Hi All,
Here is a rough draft of Appendix "F". Feel free to tear it apart........ ;D

Have a look at your drive documentation and see if there is a jumper for auto current reduction.

Maintain Aspect Ratio
..... which is in the Scale Drawing flyout.

Well you got me on that one....  ;)
Mine is also blocked out. So you will just need to experiment with the scaling and see how it all works out.
Start hacking away my friend as there is no documentation on it and i just assumed that if you scaled up or down it would maintain the aspect ratio.
You can change the axis scaling.....hack away, fool with numerous combinations, etc etc and let us know how well it works.  ;D

Just a thought......I have the same index pulse card as you, but have never put it to use as the Halls sensor i use just works fine for me here.
Others have used that board  and have had no gripes so i am not knocking the boad, but rather questioning the output.
There is no hysteresis adjustment i think.
I was thinking that you may be missing some pulses from the board sporadically and that is screwing up the number of pulses seen by the pc. Another thought could be noise as i was carefull to keep the shielded wire away from my motor etc. BUT you said it worked fine in the other version.
So kills those theories.....

I assume you did un-enable the Turn diagnostics in the plug ins?

I assume you have Threading on the Lathe Manual "REV 1".
I am not sure what the later versions of Mach do to the threading ( that's why i am still using .033 ).

Since you are manualy setting the rpm then it should come to that rpm and be rather steady, the less variance the better.
If you were controlling the VFD via PWM or  whatever and at the same time Mach is trying to control feedrate then they would
fight each other and you will have a mess. So manaul setting of rpm only.

Mach uses the RPM DRO  ( which is a true rpm reading based on an index pulse / it is accurate ) for the threading. Fluctuations of 25 rpm are going to cause you problems, yea, i know that the threading cycle will adjust for variations, but you may getting into the senerio stated above.

I am thinking that you may need to play with the debounce interval &  index setting in config some. Additionaly you may want to tweak the slot some.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: SET UP A AXIS IN ONE DIRECTION
« on: March 17, 2010, 05:40:01 PM »
-How can I set up, A axis, to run it at X rmp?

Hope not to confuse, but you can use the rotary ( in your case a stepper is driving it) as a spindle or as an index.
The setups are different and would suggest seperate XML's to do it.

As the speed of a stepper increases you will loose torque, so using a stepper  for a spindle is not well advised, additionaly the rpm will be rather non-linear when rpm is called / rather linear only over some range around max power.

So what do you want to do?

If you have an index set up than you can get an RPM reading in the DRO.

If stepper, drop the velocity and acceleration in half and see how it goes. If ok, gradualy increase until the stepper jams / skips and back off by 30%.
