What wizard are you using and if NFS what version?
Any difference in your settings / config between the two computers?

Disconnect the power supply from the board. What is the voltage out of it?
If ok / 24V reconnect to controller board.

Disconnect all the motors from the contoller board.
Does the fuse still blow?

Disconnect all the switches and estop.
Does the fuse still blow?

May have a bad or ruined the contoller board.

Check the following:
1. Power supply -  fuse is not blown and you are getting 24 volts from the supply.
2. Amp setting - should not be too high or low ( see the manual how and where to check )
The motors should energize / lock up ? Are they wired correctly?
3. Recheck wirng of  the motors
4. Is e stop swicth open / active? would disable the drives
5.Do you have limit switches ? check your wiring
6.Recheck the disable setting on the board?

I have attached a file for one of their drives. Is this the one you have?

If they worked before they should work again......
Did you by any chance disable the drives? I am not familar with that drive but a fast look at the site info says you can have them estop
or disable.

General Mach Discussion / Re: MPG's not working.
« on: July 30, 2010, 10:59:25 PM »
John,
Glad you got it working. I use two mpg's one each for X and Z, un-calibrated / settings are for "feel"  so to speak and used for positoning and also actual cutting at times.

Peter,
It's been a long time since Turn recieved any attention in the past years. At least threading was fixed, there is an improved screen set if one wishes to use it, and hopefully LazyTurn will reach an anticipated level this year. Other than that there has been Zip!
I would have thought that the number of lathe turners would have increased greatly over the last 3 years. I don't see it based on the number of postings and actual downloaded manuals and software.

Turn is a small group as compared to mill or router users and higher ended turning software is not cheap.
I think the software is a big ticket item, yet at the hobby level the combination of Wizards, Laycam Turn, and LazyTurn you can do a heck of lot.

One of these years Turn will probably get it's  turn, but until then, I guess a few of us will just continue to yodel out not expecting to hear the echo............ SORT OF LIKE THE CLAP OF ONE HAND....... ???

I am hoping that once they get the changes done for the Mill that the transition for Turn will be much easier and faster to implement, but, until then I won;t hold my breathe.

FAQs / Re: mach3turn spindle sensing problem
« on: July 30, 2010, 03:25:07 PM »
The spindle speed here is spot on. I currently use a Hall sensor and in the past used a single slot in a disk and that worked also.

Gdoc and Woddy, what version of Mach are you using?
You may also want to post your xml fle.

If you look in the Manual there is a min slot disk width that you can calculate, did you do that?
Increasing the slot width can help as i remembered i had to almost double the calculated value to get top rpm readout.

FAQs / Re: Mach 3 Motor Calibration
« on: July 30, 2010, 09:30:30 AM »
From memory so hope the following is correct,
You put a desired moved value in for the axis, Mach reports back and says here how far it moved, if you agree with reported move distance , click yes, then it will ask if you want to save the steps per unit and will change the steps per unit in motor tuning.  If the moved value is not what you input, then put that  value in and try again. Very quickly Mach will find the steps per unit value which is correct for the movement you wanted.
