Off topic but just had to comment.........
Glad Greg finaly implemented BC......thanks Greg. I am one of those moaners and haven't had a chance to try the new plug in.
After waiting a few years I fixed my backlash problem by removing it, but, that will not be the case for a lot of users.

There are single line fonts available that you can purchase for CNC machining.....sorry been a long time since I searched and don't have any links.
If your not satisfied with any of them you can make your own which would be unique. Have a look at some Calligraphy books.
To make your own just draw them out in CAD. One advantage would be minimizing the generated code as you would use arcs instead of just straight lines
 for the curved sections. I will remark that making your own does take time.

Another approach  would be to generate the gcode and then backplot the code to a dxf file and clean up as you wish. Again, most will end up as straight line segments for the curved sections of the text.

Are you meaning comparison of one machine to another?
My comment would be that you can make a "relative" comparison.  ie; Given the same electronics and gearing, you can say that the mills table is larger than the lathes carriage, so in that sense, the preformance should be similar. There is a difference in the cutting load, torque required for bearing and ball nut load, and motor specifics that come into play like Gerry replied.

There are problems with torque curves, none may be  available for the motor, the curves are for 24 or 36 volt so not representative for higher voltage systems.

What you see in LC is what the code generates. 
The gcode represents  the piece size  / project so it can be larger or outside your table limits.

Concerning  mirror of the text......... check out this thread. It is not a LC problem but rather your machine setup.

So, to be clear, you (and others), want the "Jog Controls", on the page with indicators (i.e. leds)? if so, where do you want them rough area? I will have to compact the Spindle control area, and Feed area, maybe even the Program control area, (i.e. reduce button sizes, and re-arrange space).

You can do away with the reverse run button in my opinion which would provide room
for the jog control on the end. The C/S/M buttons can be smaller.

I understand the difference between Program and Machine DRO display, but have never understood what the "Part" is or how to use it, can you send me a more detailed explanation? Will be glad to add it, just need to understand what/why/how it is used.

Forget about the Part  DRO, but do add the ability to change the DRO indication from machine to program.
Not sure where as  space is a premium.

Found the radius mode button......maybe make the text part of "Mode" the button as it's as important as knowing what lathe switches are turned on.

Sorry, bad wording on my reply#13,  was thinking about the three check boxes in config and what they do are  defined in "Mach3 CNC Controller Software Installation and Configuration" manual page 5-37. Didn't look at the other manuals.
