Not sure what your trying to accomplish. IE; Use Machs features to suplement code output lacking in the Microkinetics package or use Mach as the controlling program.

General Mach Discussion / Re: setting - continous jog

Fred,

S Inc is missing from my screen

Not sure where they got the pic for the manual but it is missing in the 1024 lathe screen set.
It dosen't matter since the value you put in the input box below the buttons will be used to change the increment.
Do a Tab to bring up the Jogging flyout window and you will see the step changed there also based on what you input.

Quote
On my screen i cannot get the jog cycle to register less than 0.0001

The DRO only displays to four places, you would need to change the screen for it to display differently, but the input value
will be used. To test input say .00002, then incrementaly jog  5 times and you will see that the axis DRO displays .0001" of movement.

From a practical point of view, chances are that the mecahnical system can't  accurately move in increments less than .0001" accurately. It is difficult to confirm very small movements ie; for a .00002 would need a standard and microscope at 400x or better to see if the move happened.

Read the info on the link on how to find the proper wires for the stepper motor. Get the motor wiring correct for one motor and then use that motor to find the driver pin out for one of the axis.

One of the problems we had with a Chinese driver was with the pin out information given. Found numerous info from different sites but all was conflicting.
What a PITA to find which pin belonged to what but will give credit to the 14 year old as he followed a matirx and got all the pins figured out by trial and error.

Try Mach's axis calbration feature which is located above Reset on the Settings (Alt-6) screen. My experience is with steppers so will leave the tuning
of your servos to those who use servos since I have a stepper system.

farmertwingolf,
Not here to spare with you. My wish is for you to have a positive experience with the community of all the users and enjoy Mach.
I certainly didn't judge your posting in bad light since if that were the case there would be no post to reply back to.
My reflection was not towards you, should not be taken as such, and if so then accept a personal apology from me to you and you only.

farmertwingolf,
Just can't restrain myself from reflecting on the situation. Consider yourself falling into a "grey zone". Let me explain........
The intent of any demo software  is to allow a user time to evaluate the software before paying for it, such that post purchasing, they are
confident that what they purchased will satisfy their needs.....thus no regrets. The demo is liberal in what it provides from an evaluation point of view
due to no time restraints on it's use. I believe we provide the best support above and beyond what one could ever find. That support comes from
a graciuos giving community of users.

So hope you have a positive experience during your evaluation and find that Mach is worthy of purchase.

Just a little personal reflection on any pirated user having the gall to use me or the community ...........

Where you got your rotten eggs and bacon from is no concern of mine and only request that they be taken to a different restaurant for preparation
as there is no more free seating available nor free coffee to go!

General Mach Discussion / Re: Gantry Size
« on: September 01, 2011, 06:10:55 AM »
Todd,
You could use another machine as a quide as Tweakie replied. To do the sizing of the members one needs to look at the total gantry and how it will be framed and anchored. The gantry top frame should be sized to address static loading, deflection, running loads, and also address vibration.  The analysis is somewhat subjective since mass  and desired rigidity come into play. What one accepts as adequate would be not be acceptable for another. For any machine additional mass is desirable.  Since you are buiding the machine you are not restricted to cost restraints and can provide for an improved design.

So you would say that i have not answered the basic question and that is true. There is more to this than just the one member and info you have supplied.

One on one phone support. / Re: I need a support call .

1. No, because you will be limited in file size and a few other things. You should see you name. Make sure you installed the license file into the Mach3 folder
where Mach was installed.  You need to get in touch with BobCad if the lic file is bad.
2.You can change the direction without changing the wiring in Config>Homing Limits by just clicking the "reversed" box next to the axis.
Make sure you have defined the Jog Keys to use for axis movements in Config>System Hotkeys Setup.
