Why not just move to location and feed at any rate you want to dispense?
Sort of like drilling numerous holes. There were some postings in here on a glue dispensing machine some time ago which you may want to search for.

You posted the same in two different places but under a different titled post. Folks don't know which one to reply to and creates confusion.
I was going to delete one but there are replies posted to it.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM / G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / I am missing a simple g-code for an engraving program.

Mach Discussion / General Mach Discussion / Gcode doesnt translate exactly from engraving software to mach3

I have slaved a stepper to a lathe spindle where the spindle was defined  as A ( tried both linear and angular setup) such that the feedrate was tied to the rpm or rotary motion.
I will say one thing, a stepper just plane sucks for spindle use.

There is a nice circle wizard which was posted some time ago called ANDYS CIRCLE ROUTINE you may want to search for and try.

Just did  very quick look and see.......
That wizard adds a lead in /  lead out and dosen't ask if you want one or what kind.
Guess you'll need to delete it. If you wanted it, then probably the wizard wouldn't have been done to add it.  ;)
Delete the line when you verify it, but, it is good practice to have a lead in and lead out for a better finish and machining.

FAQs / Re: Mach3 Super Easy Questions from Newbie
« on: February 20, 2012, 04:45:07 PM »
[Mach3 (Win7-64bit)]
Mach shares time with the operating system and does not work with 64 bit

Mach3 (Win7-64bit)] I assume creates the G-Code
Mach is motion control software which provides for the appropriate pulse stream  to the driver / motion contoller. It does not create the gcode. Gcode is created by using one of Mach wizards or some other software  and thus the instructions are sent appropriately to the driver.

[Stepper Driver] Sends the current to the motor windings
It sends pulses based on the intructions provided by the controlling software and yes will / can be set to control the currrent to the motors.

Queston 2 What external motion controller should I be using?:
None if you want to or can use the PP and if not then then SS

Queston 3 Is this a good driver/motor setup?:
Can;t soeak for that one but you can't go wrong with a Gecko drive.

Which circle cutting wizard are you using?

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: Mach3 missing DXF import.

DXF input is in LazCam, for which the "manual" is, well, not exactly up for an excellence award

No documentation exists for LazyCam other than the manual I wrote which is in Members Docs. If you comment on any portion of it or can provide written
documentation I would be happy to review your information and update the manual. I will reinforce that it's not meant for 3D and and would strongly suggest
that a different software be used rather than trying to creating numerous layers / offsets / etc to create a rough 3D pathing. Just not worth the effort.
To use the more advanced features you need a license and that is not shareware.

Win 7 64-bit, but I've yet to hook up the router

Current Mach is 32 bit only

I will be willing to pay expenses

HMM...I eat like a king, drink only good booze like a fish, require a presidential suite since min travel is 1 day and 1  night, beautiful body guards, only fly first class, and ASAP
contract requires 2x standard fee which is not negotiable :)
......where ya located?

Seriously.....

You may want to look at something like VCarve Pro for image conversion or some other software as it all depends on what you want to do.

General Mach Discussion / Re: still miffied

There is three things you can do:
1- No use of limits - you just go to any spot and "ref all" and that is your home position
2- Soft limits - you don't have any switches and define to Mach the machines travel extents. There is a write up in Members Docs on how to use / set up soft limits
with no switches , you can turn them on and off ( I found it to be more of a PITA )
3- Hard limits - you have switches which will stop the axis movement and then provide a repeatable home location

All depends on how you work and level of automation you want. If you use no switches or soft limits just be aware that when you turn the machine on the motors will recieve a pulse
and you are not "exactly" at the spot you left the machine. Should you use soft limits and happen to bump or move the axis manualy when the machine is off then the point you defined as home is not the spot you were at when you shut the machine off. If you have switches and they are accurate then you home the machine before use and you are at the true machine coordinate of 0,0,0.

Your choice, do as you wish...... ;)
