Mr. Reuben M. Prichard Jr,

Your qualifications are impressive and talents can surely be used here. I hope you would consider contributing additional
suggestions in a positive manner. Maybe have a look at Lua Programming as that will be used for Mach4. The Mach
community of users always benefits from another users talent.

Good show on an email to Artsoft and hopefully they will add it to their list of things to do for Mach4.
That is a positive action.

By all means post any programs that would assist users.

BTW, Mach has developed over the years via concerns, desires, and suggestions provided by some 25,000 users.
There are "bugs" or limitations in the program. Tweakie's assistance has been helpfull to many users,
maybe it didn't satisfy what you wanted, no need to get on him for that.

As for spelling of your name incorrectly...lighten up my friend!  this poor Lithvac's name is crucified ever day......
and I have never experienced a Six Sigma Black Belt or Master get sniffy over spelling!
Nor my refusal to bow to them....they earned my respect and and many never got it!

Enjoy the site, contribute out of the goodness for giving to others as that is self reward you will come to cherish.

But a screen like you show might be easier to do by creating a tab and control group in mach4 then use mach4 registers to read and write too the DRO's.

True.

I already created the tab and control group almost a year ago in a Mach 4 lathe screen. And would do it again.
Now if I knew how to use the registers to read and write to the DRO's......it would have been done already. 
The only register I know how to read is the one for the check book and seems like it always goes out and nothing is read back in!

If the code is correctly generated in inches only, ie; no code to change the z , and the axis steps are correct for inches , and Mach config units are inches and no scaling, then Mach will generate the correct pulses for the move.
Maybe it's your external device or plug-in that is goofy.

when it's time to cut out the object it starts half way up the material.

 

You need to define how you want to machine something in CAM.  Know nothing about your software.

Consult your Routcad manual. I would assume that you can select different units.
If MM is not available you could generate code in inches and use a converter to convert the code to MM.
You could also scale in Mach, have a look in the Mach manual for info.
BTW....never heard of Routcad

Are you using LazyCam to generate the code?
Do you have a licensed version of LazyCam?
Are you posting code directly to a file? or to Mach?

I know nothing about your controller and it's configuration. LC will post code based on Mach configuration unless you are using a modified pst file
( BTW see my recent reply to your post about pst's....don't know what will actualy happen....never hacked away at pst's....and don't plan on doing so)

BTW,
I know nothing about using the Plasma Module .......ie; never hacked away at it to see what if any bugs exist in it. Thus it is not covered in the manual.

I have attached a file found on the FTP site. The file may actualy be located where you installed LazyCam.
Your on your own for creating a pst. You can use the Screen Setup>Posting Options and click the Set Post Processor
to select what pst you want to default to.

I have never tried using the pst and haven't the foggiest idea of what the affects will be.
Don't even know if it works!

Manualy edit the code to add the M25 once it is posted to Mach.

I am not aware of any Post Processor (pp)for LC that you can modify. The posting options allows selection of a pp,
