Check General Config and see that the A is defined in agreemnet with what your trying. IE; linear or angular

It is your prerogative to choose ugly for your screens, your widgets, or your comments.
It is my prerogative to react or ignore. I shall choose the latter from here on.

A good rule to follow during discussion is to question for understanding if intent of a comment
 was not understood. One should  consider the comment if it is additive to what is being discussed
or just keep in mind the point made. Comment nor reply need not be defensive but would just clarify intent.

Continue exploring the new interface and by all means post the how to do it......

Suggest that you watch the videos and read the manual some.
At least you'll have a flavor of how Mach works.

There is a Lazyturn Manual in Members Docs that you should review.

First you hit the Green PST button, then you hit the Post button in the lower right corner of the pop up Post Generator window (after entering any preperatory info if necessary). Then name the file and Save AS in the next pop up. Then SAVE and you will see the code.

Are you using Windows 7?
A folder you are saving to must have privilages. i don't use Win 7 , but did remember someone posting about Windows 7 quirks.

No problems with having CAD, CAM, and other programs installed on the computer.
Just don't use the programs if you are running Mach.

calibrating in Mach through the Set steps per unit tab in settings

I assume you are doing it correctly.

Then

You should go back and tune the motors / change the values for proper velocity and acceleration.

You should also have a look at the Mach manual and video's,

Yep you need to read the manual.......

Do this to get a flavor since you don't have switches:

- Open Mach,
- Click each Zero button next to the axis
-In the MDI separately type the following:
G54 X0 Y0 Z0
G92.1
-Exit and reopen Mach.
