The reason I mentioned the installation per the manual is that if LC is not per the stated version LT may not work properly
and I don't know what is in the download section. So the safest bet is to check versions of both LC & LT that you installed.
??  About will display the version.

I am not really sure you are doing anything wrong. I have a good example in the manual and one can use the dxf file provided
and just follow what I did. You should end up being able to post the gcode.

If you can try it on W7 or XP if you can.

I'm head first in the threadtables now.

May the one above give you patience.

There are so many standards relative to threads and one dosen't know how ill educated they are until you really get into it.
I found hard copy of a few ANSI standards I had. You need to purchase the standards as they are not free from the different organizations.
I know your having fun and learning a lot also.

In the end sometimes "the nut goes on" does have a practical meaning in terms of tolerance. Frankly, I try to do a Class 3 and if it doesn't spec,
well, then I have a class 2. For an NPT, it takes some care in all that one does, since in the end most will be only able to check how many turns it takes to lock up and that the threads all make contact at lockup. What is important from a design perspective is what the thread needs to accomplish, and that ends up having all of these different standards to address the different needs.

Oh, BTW, there no such thing a sharp V tool since every threading tool will have a radius of some value and that needs to be taken into account.
Even if you do grind the tool on a grinding machine it has a silly radius at the point, and if it is say only 0.001" rad that tip radius will break off
in short order.

Just some insights for those following this thread,

Have fun,

RICH

misko,

Since you are using a pirated Mach version we cannot support your requests for any type of assistance
until you resolve the license issue.

Strongly suggest you purchase a license.

The manual was written by me almost 6 years ago, so yours truly had to go back and have a look at it! :D

Did you install LT per page 6 in the manual?

Again can't help on the Win 10 stuff....I am still at XP and Win 7. :)

Oh BTW,

There is a manual for LT. Read it and don't hack the program.

Is there any possibility that I import the lazyturn layout with toolpaths etc. JUST BEFORE postcoding in lazyturn in lazycam because I can postcode the file then in lazycam itsself to a working tap file

Not that I am aware of. Two different programs and LT was done to replace LC  lathe module since the tooling in the LC module was never finished.
One can use LC lathe, but it will be a challenge............!

I save the file to a given directory but it is empty so no code is made!(.tap file is 0 bytes)

Did  you select the ToolPaths that you want to generate code for BEFORE posting?

It's the tool tip / shape as it relates to the arc.
Gouging is when some part of the cutting tool is hitting the work other than / or in addition to the tool tip.

Scroll thru the gcode and you will see the tool movement.
It starts on the left and follows the curve, thus counter clockwise.

If the tool where a triangular tip and aligned  on a 45 deg angle it would be close, but may still gouge depending on the depth of cut.
I don't want to confuse you, but to cut small outside arc's I grind the tool such that it is a point and has radius on each side such that it
can't gouge.

Can you envision the above?

When you post code the Code Prolog opens and that is where you can add comments / whatever to the code file that will be posted.
If don't want any the leave blank.
When you click Post in that dialog you should get windows dialog so you can pick a place to store the file.

I don't use Windows 10 so can't help you there.

I have attached a pick of the OD ARC Turning.
- Clearance is the amount of pull out of the tool.
- What radius will be put on the end of the stock is determined by the Sphere Dia.
- You can position the Sphere anywhere you want depending on the other inputs.
- If you want a complete half round on the end of the stock then Xend should be 0.0
  and see the attached pic.

Watch the graphics area to see what is happening as you change inputs.
BTW, watch how the tool is positioned relative to the round  or you will gouge during the machining.

Just to clarify which wizard is being used as I need use the same one as you.

I have OD Arc Turning which is in the  Lathe Turning Wizards done by Brian / Kiran.
