MojsterMiha,
I just downloaded your xml file today and had a quick look at it nothing seemed out of place.
Scratch test is not what you did in the previous post. Get the write up I did on threading as it has lots of
info that i am not going to repeat because that is the reason I wrote it.

From your pic of the cut thread seems that your depth of cut was too deep, slow down took place or you lost control, the controller can only slow down and not speed up, it tries to save the thread and modifies the feed rate on the following pathing.

Just do as Graham said doing scratch tests. Slow spindle speed down, try 50, 100, 150 instead of 250. When you use the Wizard it will say if you are exceeding axis capability ( not some pop up error) in the right hand corner of the screen.

What happens when you do a G1 Z*********  Fx move at the threaging feed rates you are going to use and just scribing a cut into the material. Should be constant movement , not vibrating!

Also do you have backlash in the X axis, noticed that in the xml but also that compensation was not active. Backlash is a real PITA if you are trying to do threading.

Miha, A few things to check:

1. While in the threading wizard, and after all info was input, tick the box in the left top corner and the wizard
will check you system for acceleration / feedrate at rpm noted. should not get a warning.
2. Your system axes  should be able to move at whatever feedrate smoothly and if it doesn't may need to tune you
    drive.
3. Are you manually controlling you rpm ? this refers to Pulley ratio?  Confirm you spindle rpm is running correctly
for what you input in the wizard.
4. There is a manual on threading that I wrote long time ago and you can find it in Members Docs also check where
Mach3 is installed since it is distributed along with the software.

General Mach Discussion / Re: mach3 lathe

I am not that familiar with the UC 400ETH and the threading write dosen't address it.  A few of us
addressed a number of questions on this site about it's use / requirements to do threading and remember that it may require an encoder. I do have notes somewhere on the discussions but would need to look for them.

I think you may be better served by going to CNC Drive forum for specifics on using that drive to do threading and exactly what is required along with how to set it up.

Have you read "Threading On The Lathe-Mach3 Turn?
What version of Mach3 are you using?
Post the xml file that you are using for the lathe.

LazyCam's turn module leaves much to be desired and can be problematic to use. That is one reason that LAZYTURN was created to be a replacement for that module. There is a manual for LazyCam which has a Turn tutorial in it ...... been over 10 years since that was written.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Z axis inconsistent movement

Will give me a Z offset of +0.002mm each time I run it.

0.002mm  = 0.000079"
What is your theoretical and actual resolution for the Z axis ?
How are you measuring that error?
How is that axis driven and are the axis components of dimensional quality ?

Just a few practical considerations.

LazyTurn / Re: How to find the latest version of "Lazy Turn" ?

Joe,
Go to the LAZYTURN thread , page 135, reply #1349 for rel 1.1, which is the latest and install it.

Download and read the Lazyturn Manual.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Drill chuck reference on lathe table!!!

Have you considered probing?
I don't use switches on any of my machines. For the lathe I use probing for numerous tasks;
populate the tool table, measurements  / reverse engineering of turned forms, BUT, most importantly to
locate X axis center of the lathe.

A touch off fixture that is removable / can be re-positioned, easily attached to the lathe bed can be made to do what you want at any time. Thought ...it's just a tool setter and you use the probing feature.

I have found probing to be very accurate; typically 0.0001" or .0002" repeatable.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 turn threading problem with Z feedrate

Christian,

How was the gcode that was used in the video created? Did you code it?
Watching the video I notice your actually clicking buttons to change something........doesn't make sense!
Why the G04 P100 dwell part of the code.........doesn't make sense!
Noticed that the spindle RPM in the video was stable ie; 170 to 171

Do the following:
- Create the threading gcode using the "Simple Threading ( Lathe ) wizard.
The inputs should represent a common metric thread. ie; M8-1.00

NOTE: The m1076 macro should set for G32 ( that's the output code that "I" want to see)
as shown on page 47 in the threading manual. If you fooled with that macro in any
other way AND  or OR  using a modified one done by someone else, replace  with
the original m1076.mis provided with the original turn screen!

- After completing the inputs required, click the ( Calc number of passes ) button to make
sure your NOT exceeding your max feedrate.

- take a screen shot of the Wizard screen.

- Click the Post Code and run it.

Please post both the screen shot and the generated code when you reply.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 turn threading problem with Z feedrate
« on: February 13, 2020, 10:49:31 AM »
I have now set the steps per revolution at 1000, why have to try at 2000?

Using 2000 you would be micro stepping at 10x. Above 10x there is nothing to be gained.

I can't set the speed manually, I only set it via Mach3.

The threading PDF talks about what happens when both Mach3 threading and the spindle control are both
trying to influence feedrate in threading. Some folks have no problem but others do and I think that may be your problem.
Until you try threading with setting spindle speed manually you will never know for sure!
