General Mach Discussion / Re: Total newb - Inspiron 560s

I've always had good results from using a parallel pci card that has the netmos "moschip" on it.  Do a search for "moschip pci card" and you will find many flavors. Usually between $10 to $20. I just ordered one on Ebay from Hong Kong for $7.79 with free shipping. It is identical to the ones I have now.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Motherboards-microATX that works

Well, if this thread is occasionally refreshed, we can use it to enter our motherboard(s) model(s) we use in our CNC systems.

In any event, I've been using the ASUS A7V333 and A7V600 boards running Mach3 right off the bat, and now the A7V8X-MX(running in optimized "standard PC" mode).
OS WinXP

Okay, the A7v8x-MX Works just fine.  This was the first time I had to use the optimizations offered.  All I had to do was go to "Standard PC" which just turned off the ACPI.  That did the trick.   Seems to run just fine now.   Woo-Hoo!

General Mach Discussion / Motherboards-microATX that works
« on: July 03, 2011, 10:50:51 PM »
Hi all,
I'm setting up another machine computer and have tried an Asus A7v8x-MX motherboard that has unstable pulse, This is due I believe from the onboard video. I'm using an ATI AGP video card.

My questions are...  What MICRO ATX boards are you using that function well with Mach3?  Is there a section here that lists compatable boards of the MICRO ATX form?   I have heard that some boards have a jumper to eliminate onboard video interference.  Is this true?
The A7V8X-MX does not have this feature.

I don't need a new MICRO ATX board...just one that works

Thanks,
John Meissner

The videos he made are worth watching, too, if you get time.

Yah!
Chris, those videos demonstrate your keen sense of humor with your wandering camera work.  ;D
You are truly too showing just how up for the tasks Rhino/Mach and your selected hardware are.

Hi Chris,
Fantastic work (the norm for you!)
I see the pic of your webcam for $50 along with the several magnifications.
What brand is that?...And has it been highly modified to suit your purposes?

Thanks,
John Meissner (Bloy)
