General Mach Discussion / Re: What buttons on your control?
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:45:38 PM »
Heh Ray,
I think I'm gonna need quite a bit of "other" parts(and knowledge).  The closest I've been to programming was to flash the chip on the schumatech DRO350.   So I think your pendant is over my head.  :-[  BUT!
From viewing your posts throughout the forums, it is apparent that you are a fine teacher.  Maybe someday you would put together a "step by step" tutorial on the making/modifying of your pendant?

For now, I'm thinking it would be better to just negotiate with SWMBO for a ready made unit.   ;D

Thanks,
John

John,

I'd be happy to post the modified firmware if you want to go that route.

Regards,
Ray L.
Ray, I want you to be happy!  So sure, go ahead and post the modified firmware.  You are convincing that that is the route to go!

Thanks!...I'll surely appreciate seeing and attempting to emulate your work.

John
p.s. I have the Nemicon MPG, the estop switch, and the two 6 position switches and parts i'm sure i have in my stash.  The case? Well, I'd start by making a crude one and refine if I follow through with this.

EStop
Run, FeedHold, Stop
Jogging all axes (Step/Velocity and Continuous modes)
Setting jog increment or continuous jog speed
Mist/Flood Coolant, Spindle on/off
Homing all axes
Probing all axes in both directions to set fixture offsets
Grab/Release PDB
Cycle toolchanger
ToolComp on/off

This is all shoe-horned into an off-the-shelf pendant with an MPG, EStop switch, two six-position rotary switches, and a single push-button switch.

Regards,
Ray L.

Hi Ray,
I'm a old time user(rather LONG time user ;)) who's been dormant for a while and want to put together a pendant.  Do you have a thread somewhere where you detail your pendant wiring and coding?
...not that I will use ALL your functions..
Thanks,
John Meissner

Well the driver is 32bit and we are thinking about making a 64Bit driver ... We thought he P Port would have been gone by now LOL...

Talked to Art and he is going to setup a 64 bit system to test with..

Thanks
Brian

Meanwhile,  how is this coming along?

Thanks Ron,
That's all I needed to know at this time.

I appreciate all the effort you put into developing the wizards.  I'm excited to get up and running again and checking out your work!
I haven't been active with them since Brian was involved in them.

I sent you an email, so please disregard my other questions at this time..

Thanks again much!
John

Hello,
I've been inactive lately using my CNC and have been reading up on the newfangled wizards which I have a license for.
I found the "latest" version(newfangled286.zip) in the first post of the topic: "Newfangled Solutions Software - Latest version".
It says the latest "edit" was in May of 2011.   I've also been reading about the Turn wizard .006 along with the drill wizard.

These latter wizards have been developed much later than the "last edit" date of the NFS286.  Are they now incorporated into the complete NFS286?

I'm just about ready to begin playing with Mach3 again and would appreciate what I need to download to have the complete package.

If I was able at this time I would just download 286 and find out.   Or maybe the complete NFS wizard collection is already incorporated into the latest Mach3 lockdown version?

Thanks,

John Meissner. (stopped by a wayside for too long  :()

jeepers Hood, I was there and read advice that one should post here in the general area to get the question noticed as the NFS section is rather isolated.
But I'll post in the NFS area and hope for some clarification on just what comprises the current NFS wizards.  If I was all set up I'd just download the 286 and see what's in it.   Or maybe Ron has put it all in the latest lockdown version of Mach3?

Thanks,
John

Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2012, Brian, etal.  Your boy will love that tractor with loader.

I wish I had tools back in the 80's when my son(and I) was younger.  But I still saw the delight in his eyes when I managed to stuff the dash and grips with a multitude of electronicbuzzers/sirens, LEDs, momentary/turn dial switches and whatever would fit. He became the hit of the city neighborhood with his "tricked out" big wheeler such as this... ;D
