I bought a motherboard on Ebay (ECS 648FX-A 478 Motherboard+2.6G CPU+1 GB RAM)

Radeon 9250 128MB 8XAGP Video Card

I have installed many boards for Mach3 in the past years but I could never make this one work

I have tried every thing that is possible. I have 5 of 6 AGP video card, tried all of them with no luck. Installed drivers for each of them.

Re-install Mach3 5 or 6 times, formatting drive each time.

Done everything on the optimization for XP.

As soon as spindle is on, computer freeze, as soon as I turn off spindle(turn off VFD) computer work again.

If I try with special driver, input like S12000 M3 on MDI line,  spindle will not start, but can see output 2 blinking on parameter page.

I had MachStdMill installed and tough that it could be the problem, but I think it is not.

When it was working (a little bit), Computer was shutting down almost at every minute or so.

Power supply is good, had 1.5G or ram

Will try with an old board I have that I know was working before(changed because it only have USB 1.0 and on board graphic)

Nothing have changer on my router, every cable is shielded, nothing more or less than with previous motherboard.

Guess this is one of those mystery.

Modbus / Can someone explain how to map input on my MC-01
« on: February 22, 2011, 08:26:27 PM »
Just would like to know how to map input and output on my ModIO.

I need all 8 inputs and output address

As an example, if input 1 is active, want to jog the X axis.

For the 4 X 4 matrix, I do not understand how to find address for specific input also.

I know mostly nothing about address , try to follow manual but I'm missing something and have trouble understanding.

Thanks for any help.

VB and the development of wizards / VB and modIO + macropump.ms1
« on: February 16, 2011, 03:38:08 PM »
HI,

I have started playing with the ModIO and some Macropump.

I read the manual from Peter Homann page by page but there's something I do not understand.

I have checked a lot of macropump and Vb on the net and thet all saved under the name Macropump.ms1

Here's the stupid question.

Since you cannot have many files having the same name, all macropump must be contain in the same macropump.ms1

I cannot have a macropump.ms1 for the LCD read out and another for fro potentiometer and so on, right

So how do I write the macropump if all applications must be is the same macropump.ms1.

Hope my question is not too stupid.

Mach Screens / MachStdMill Screen CV and ES button
« on: February 05, 2011, 08:44:00 PM »
On the run screen, when I use exact stop in my program (G61) it's the CV button that is highlighted and when I use G64 for constant feed, that's the ES button that is highlighted.

I need to use both G64 and G61 in my program.

The code are accepted . The machine runs fine, just button that are inverted.

Here's a small video I've recorded about a small job I do for a small company.

As you can see, I do not show the Mach3 screen. ;) ;) ::) ::)

Tangent Corner / Look to be fake
« on: January 28, 2011, 02:59:38 PM »
Received an email from Ebay (not sure) today saying that my item has been mailed and should arrive soon.

From charlesthomas32(381 stars) .

There's a link with item number and the yellow button RESPOND

If you click on respond or the link for item number, you are taken to the log in page of ebay but I always stay log in for 24 hours.

That made me suspicious.

The email look real, even exactly the same Ebay send you.

If I go to Ebay with my favorite, I do not end up to the log in page but directly to my Ebay page.

There's a charlesthomes ebay member but has 2 feedbacks instead of 381 and item number does not exist.

I have received a lot of fake email in the past and always stay on my guard but this time, this one looks real.

Be aware and stay alert

General Mach Discussion / Just did a new install and lots pf problems
« on: January 20, 2011, 03:12:07 AM »
Hi,

Just did a new install of Mach3 Ver. 3.043.019 because I wanted to install MachStdMill too and on the website, they ask for Mach3 ver. 3.043.022

Reminder: To use MachStdMill you must run Mach 3.43.22 or newer.

This is a new (for me) motherboard, P4PE 3.2Mhz but I think it is a bit slower than that and needed it because the old one had only USB1.0

Install New Mach3 and the last version of MachStdMill available on the website, ordered the license and installed license.

This is a nice screen set but I miss the sliders for all DRO's, don't know if I will keep it.

There's variation of RPM of the spindle, approximately 50 to 150 RPM .

Feed is never the same, if in my program the feed is set to 70 ipm, sometime will get 130, 140 of 25, or 35, never at the same place and can reed Gcode with good feed.

I have to put value of 50% in the FRO to slow the feed but it vary anyway.

If I need ver 3.043.022 and the last version on the FTP site is 3.043.019, is this an error.

I have tried the RUN FROM HERE and it broke my limit switch on the Z axis.

I did the Windows XP optimize list and this is a fresh install.

If I move the mouse, I get some RPM variation too.

I was in the middle of a job and the computer just stop for no reason.

What could be the problem, don't know what to do.
