General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 is not talking to Breakout board
« on: April 22, 2011, 09:13:25 AM »
HI I had the same problem last week. My computer guy had turned of the lpt1 port when he set up the computer.
It looked like it was runing on the screen but was not sending pulses to the break out board. I had to go into the config and turn on the port.
Even though the mach said the port was conected it was not. and the test said everything was good and was runing find.
Somthing like that is confusing to say the least.
It said it was working but the pins didnt show any response to voltage change.
Also if your pins read 5 volts at rest do you have your mach set to pin low or pin high.
I have mine set to operate at pin low voltage. it will not run at pin high.
THIS MEANS THAT IT SENDS a pulse when the voltage is turned of not when it is turned on.

It has been a long time for me sence I last did a set up on my machine . Couldnt find the set up option.
Thanks again from larry in canada as well.

General Mach Discussion / Re: weird marks on port test
« on: March 22, 2011, 12:36:14 AM »
Yes I use photo shop,  corel draw and other programs.
This machine will be used for designing and doing tests of the programs. Also I use it to work on doing cad drawings. for machine designs.
I am also doing  some software work. setting up a post processer for other machines.
I was using a pentium 4 before but I am having trouble with it jaming up and stoping.
That is the reason I whent to a bigger machine . Plus the cost was so cheap I couldnt turn it down.
The fellow built the machine and told me if I wanted it it was only $ 200 I just couldnt turn it down at that price.
The only problem was with the mach3 test . As I have never saw the spikes so big or high what ever it is called. But it seems to work. I was just wondering if the spikes was the other core trying to talk to the machine or somthing like that.
Just somthing I havent seen until now and thought someone on the forum might have.

General Mach Discussion / weird marks on port test
« on: March 21, 2011, 11:47:53 AM »
Hi I just uploaded mach 3 and lazy cam on my computer.
and when I did the port test the pulse was normal until I was half way through the test.
Then the pulse jumped up untill the tops were one line below the 64 they were even and It was holding steady at 25000 per sec. they were not just one or two pulses they were steady all the way across the screen.
That is the first time I ever saw that usually they just give a few pulses that when up one point.
This machine is a pentium 4 with a dual core processor. 2.5 gig speed. Does the duo core processor do somthing weird or is this okay.
the message said test okay. The reason for the duo core processor is I will be using this machine to do all my design work  twice as fast as the old machine or so they tell me. please let me know befor I load everything on this machine in case I have to take it back.

General Mach Discussion / help forgot my info
« on: March 14, 2011, 11:00:06 AM »
Hi this is larry it has been a long time sence I put my licence info into macg. But as everything goes I had to get a new computer.
I was able to transfer the info a couple of times but findly it wouldnt go any more .

So to make a long story short I cant get my licence file email part to go into mach3 or into lazy cam or into the adons. I have a licence for everything but it will not drop in. The first time I just took them and droped them in Must have fixed the easy way and have another way now.....
When I start mach3 I just get the demo written on the top. could you please tell me what I am doing wroung. Maybe my mind is going. Just got out of the hospital from heart failure. and I am forgetting a lot.

Put a diode across the relay terminal so that when you hit the button the emf feild will feed back through it . It will work as a electical feed back neutralizer I think you know what I mean. I had the same trouble last year when I built a contol panel for a machine . It used 5 relays and when I made or broke the curcuit on the relay It sent a pulse back through the wiring and made  the other relays pulse  on.  I couldnt figure it out at first either but a electical freind told me what to do Never had any more problems. It allows the electricity to bleed of the coil so you dont get the feed back which can be a lot more than the input power almost 10 times as much.

Yes know what you are saying I get 5.6 meg . I have a wirelsee router ar so theat is what bell tels me all I know is that it runs at over 5 meg a sec. Ha I am just flying now. We still will not have broad band cable for at least 3 more years yet. I run of a cell tower 3 miles from here. the only one in walford that has high spped yet. what is this about breaking up the program . How will that work.

I have read this line of reasoning and you have all forgot the basics . What about the fellow who wants to build a machine and doesnt have much money he can get a couple of drives a couple of motors etc and put a machine together working for a few hundred of dollars. That is what mach started from now you all whant to go to a formate where he will have to spend hundred if not tousands on special equipment and buy a whole lot of 3rd party software just to run his machine . Most wouldnt be able to afford that. 64 bit computers were built for gamers and computer nerds who could say look at what I have . Nice but still not needed.  I know people still running ther business with 486 coputers. and they havent whent belly up yet. Sorry I get so carried away with this. I just get frustrated.

Ya I have been thinking the same thing from what I have been reading.  Also is mach going to have a new release mach 4 from what I have been reading. Will it make all my old equipment obsilete or any thing. I hope not I also hope I wount need windows 7 or somthing.  You know I have been using mach 3 for close to 4 years now hwen I built my first machine That is the only program I gave a lot of thought to. GLAD idid It has never let me down. In thoughs days I had only dial up internt couldnt use the forums. Just got high spped 2 month ago . I use a wirless hub pay by the gig. or meg really. But it is lovely. ( Expensive )  I hope they keep up the good work. The only problem Is I cant take a glpl printer program. for vynl cutting and convert it to work with mach gcode. But I am working on it. Just need to make mach give the cutter offset.
