Weeweechu...................

 :D

It's a romantic full moon, when Pedro said, "Hey, mamacita, let's do

Weeweechu."

Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.

Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu. I love you and it's the

perfect time," Pedro begged.

"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied Rosita.

Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."

Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do Weeweechu."

Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang.....

"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

General Mach Discussion / Z AXIS KNEE
« on: November 07, 2008, 07:00:26 PM »
I'm seeing lots of post on other forums about using your knee for your Z.
The knee mill is not designed for it, you crank it to your desired height and lock it. That's the way it's intended.

I've never come across a job I couldn't do with 5" or 6" travel in the quill. Some jobs I have 10 tools set up. It's all
in your tool setup. You will need some extended tool holders for your shorter tools.
Unless, of course ,  you want to bore out your big block Chevy.

The knee mill uses an acme screw and miter gears to move that knee. When you do a peck drill cycle , you are raising havoc on those parts.
You will never get the speed that you get from your quill.  Check any knee mill with some use what happens when you unlock the Knee. It will sag.

A bed mill ,where the whole head moves up and down ,has a counter weight, which is usually inside the casting, and runs on ball screws, no miter gears needed.

Wheather you add air cylinders, gas shocks, or whatever, you'll never get the speed, you get from your quill.

Compare the weight of the head on  a bed mill to the weight of your knee, with saddle and table, and / or vise and part , all sitting on top an acme screw and miter gears.

I WOULDN'T do it, but , then again, it's your machine. Build it the way you want it.

besides all, Gecko doesn't make a drive big enough for a servo big enough to do it.

General Mach Discussion / Homing/limits-g28
« on: October 05, 2008, 06:21:58 PM »
Hey Guys,

In config, homing/limits, I have my soft limits set at X @29"  Y@ 12.75"
I have g28 set at X 14.5 Y at 6.375 to bring my X and Y to the center of travel.
When I do a g28 in MDI. the X just comes off home and stops. Y is ok.  :o
Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
Whats my problem?

Original roadrunner in Mach is all g1 moves, which I don't care for.
This one is all g2 and g3 moves except z moves. This program will engrave .015 deep with sharp engrave tool.
Enclose dxf. Will post code.

General Mach Discussion / mill retro HELP
« on: May 25, 2008, 01:54:57 AM »
I have a excello vert mill which I want to retrofit and run on Mach 3. My questions are- I have Baldor servodrive-um4-100-2 and 3 Baldor  dc brush type 40 in lb motors. Will these work with Mach? If not the servo drive, what would I need? also what breaker board? How about a wiring schematic ?
I recently retrofit-ed a Yamazen mill with the Ajax control which works fine, but should for the 4k it cost me. >:( It cannot read a loaded g code program that has any subs. That's a $1,5OO option from Ajax, along with all their other options The conversation part of is is fine, but mirror and scale is another option along with text. I want to set up the Excello with Mach, . From what Ive been reading on this forum it sounds like the best deal for my application. Thanks in advance, and hope someone can answer my questions
