Rich,
thanks for the info.
I have now got a copy of ctext.lsp downloaded but I am unsure how to use it . I use AC2005.
I expected to have to put it in a lisp folder but don't see one.

Could you let me know what I need to do.

You are right Sam, it is rather basic.
So far I have failed to make it arrange letters around a complete circle.

Thanks anyway

Thanks for  your input Rich.
I will see if I can locate DeskEngrave.
I did a layout in AutoCad but on transferring it to LazyCam some of the numerals jumped to different locations!!.
I don't know why since most stayed put.
I have found a more suitable font now and will try again.

I have got this sorted. It was my confusion about cutter size and units.

LazyCam (Beta) / Text offsetting
« on: February 29, 2008, 05:31:01 PM »
Can anyone help me out with this problem.
I am using V,X and I to create the roman numerals on a clock dial.
Using Times New Roman font in LC I can drag the letters (approx 5/8 in tall) into a frame, select them and offset to the inside so all raised material is removed from inside the letter by the 0.75mm cutter.  They will later be filled with wax.
However if I load the clockface DXF into LazyCam then drag the letters 'onto' the clockface dxf I can select them but offsetting the cut on the inside does not work, no code being generated,
Doubling the scale or reducing cutter size does not help either.
Has anyone overcome  this difficulty or can see a way to pocket the letters.

Thanks for that Sam.
A bit of lateral thinking can make things seem simpler than originally thought.
Thanks also for the URL and the pic.

Hi tom_emag,
If your system worked then stopped working something must have changed.
I found it important to record changes made; probably my memory at fault, so I could return to previous conditions.
Of course a connection might have broken.
It will be interesting to see what Brian has to say.

Hi All.
I want to engrave a small clock face with Roman Numerals.
I have Googled for a font without success.
Anyone any experience or ideas on using Roman Numerals in AutoCAD or know the location of a font(free)

Thanks for your reply, I know that if the situation can be improved you are the boys to do it.
